Doesn't stay put, floats out of basket when filter opened
It might be a really good media but it floats. So, for my filter configuration it floated out of the basket when I started taking the filter apart to clean. It took ages to recover from all the gaps and holes in the canister. The original (ceramic) mech didn't do this.I can't imagine that a settlement media should go in a mesh bag?

Shredded
Made the mistake of mixing this in with ordinary mech ive had in a filter for 10+years and it was completely shredded by the ceramic version.Stick with traditional mech nothing pro about it!

Not Good...
The ideal purpose of this media is to settle the flow and act as a primary settlement in a canister filter so it does a decent job of that but the ceramic ring 'mech' media Eheim have been making for decades does a much better job as it is heavy and will stay put under the media trays.(Primary settlement media would be used UNDER the media trays to catch heavy muck and save foams from clogging so quick)However, the layout of new Eheim filters wastes at least one media tray on this useless 'media' which has been manufactured to be much cheaper than the ceramic 'mech' and cut down the shipping weight of new filters. My advice would be that if you're looking to and primary settlement for a canister filter then go for the ceramic 'mech' rings (which do a much better job) - don't waste your money on this plastic nonsense and don't waste a tray on primary settlement media. Space in a canister is limited, most are under sized for the tank and understanding how water flows through them so you can set up properly is essential. Why Eheim has changed from the more efficient ceramic mech to the cheaper to manufacture, largely useless, plastic media unfortunately illustrates where their priorities lie and that is not good to see from a once trusted aquatic retailer.

Don’t bother with Mechpro
Absolute rubbish! Just floats in your filter. Better using ceramic rings that Eheim have made since the 1980’s

Goed om het vuil op te vangen
Perfect om het grove vuil op te vangen alvorens het water door je sponzen en filterwol gaat, als filtermedia om bacterieën te groeien zijn er veel betere alternatieven.
