Perfect for what I'm using it for and cheap, for this price for storage can be used as a backup for all your data, I have this and another 2tb drive both inside and enclosure and use as a remote storage area. So far after a good few months it's still working as it should, no setbacks no clicking no nothing just working perfect I back up my data daily so it definitely receives alot of read and writes but going strong will update if it fails.

The hard drive was posted through my letter box and landed on the door mat with a quite loud and worrying thud (not ideal, since i was in the house at the time and they could have just knocked). The drive still seems to work ok though. I plugged it into my machine and immediatly reviewed it's SMART data. It clames to have zero hours of power on time, and only 1 power on cycle. All other attributes read zero too, so either this is a brand new HDD, or the SMART data has been wiped/reset. I attempted a data recovery scan of the drive, and it didnt find a single file, or any sign of previous partitions or formats. This again suggests that the drive is either brand new, or more likely has been dbanned before dispatch. After satisfying my curiocity, i configered the drive to GUID, and did a quick format. I've filled approx 1/3 of the drive (i.e. about 60Gb of the 1.81TB capacity) and have no issues at all so far. The price was good compared to a brand new drive of the same capacity, and the delivery wasnt too bad either, so i'm quite happy with it so far. If i remember, i'll update this review in approx 1 year, to let you know how the drive is doring after some prolonged use.

Was very cautious about buying a hard drive "used", but after hearing good reviews about manufacturer-refurbished HGST drives, I thought I'd go for it. Works like new, cosmetically looks like new. Performed a full surface sector scan using HD Sentinel, which returned 100% healthy sectors. Looking good so far! Not put this to anythign too intensive yet but will update if anything changes.

What a waste of my time... Save yours and do not buy one of these....

Great product for a great price

Quality drive and decent price

Was DOA, clicking death, tested in few systems/docks that all work, but dead drives happen and was refurb. Packaging may of been better as bubble wrap layer in bottom of box maybe not helped, but seems like controller issue. Either way returned and that was done instantly and no complaints in that, shame didn't work as would of been well happy, but I'd certainly give this supplier another go and appreciate these things happen and not holding it against them, hence fair review of 4*.
