Excellent looking, functional bass -- and beautiful too!
I bought this because I liked the blue/green color, the white perloid pickguard, and the white inlays on the fretboard. I also liked the symmetrical body shape, and the fact that the pickups are Precision/Jazz (PJ). The only ingredient missing is that it's not short scale like I prefer. But I can tolerate that. It sounds decent enough, and one thing that really suprised me is that the entire package that came is so small and light. The accessories -- the amp, gig bag, strap, and power cord, are all rather inexpensive and cheap feeling, but what do you expect for $100? I didn't buy the bass for these add-ons, so their cheap feel didn't affect my rating. The gig bag fits the bass, unlike the Glarry short scale bass I also purchased and made into a piccolo bass.I needed to adjust the intonation and like many basses I own, the bass has a lot of fret buzz on the Low #'s F, F#, and G on the first, second, and third frets. But this buzz doesn't come through the amp, fortunately. I will probably play with the action and saddle height to see if I can get rid of the buzz, but I am still happy with the bass overall, particularly for the price I paid.By the way, I am a former semi-pro bass player who gigged regularly until Covid hit. I also build instruments. Through my building, I learned how "similar" cheap and expensive basses and guitars are. I believe there is a lot of hype about brands, and I am happy to use low-end basses for recording and also performing live for paying customers. The major difference is in the sound of the pickups and how well the instrument plays due to its setup. Another thing to consider is hum -- this bass does have hum like all other single coil pickups. If you want to get rid of it, you would have to replace the pickups with humbuckers and sheild the bass.Overall, a nice addition to my growing collection of basses, and one that I love to just look at as it hangs on the wall of my music room.

big chunky neck for big chunky paws. nice bass
smart buy. all this stuff for under 100 bucks. quality was there and the neck is beefy, so if you have big paws you, you will love the p- feel. i went and bought an aftermarket jazz style neck for it. and the neck slid in perfect. i dabble in luither, so i know quality, so there were alot of sharp fret ends.

Solid bass for the price
I've played guitars for over 35 years and recently have been practicing set-up skills on budget guitars. This is my first bass, purchased because I have found that today's entry level instruments have solid guts but the low cost means certain quality checks need to be performed by the buyer. With this Ktaxon PJ bass, that's been my experience, too.First off, it plays fine, and looks beautiful with metallic fleck finish, eggshell pick guard and fret inlays, and black tuners, bridge, knobs and pickups. Intonation and action were perfect out of box! Just had to tune it up. Comfortable weight and balance with strap. Tuners feel smooth and hold tune. The "room for improvement" areas: a few spots on the neck wood are a little rough (just a light sanding needed). Noticed a scratch at the top of headstock. Fret ends are noticeable, not sharp but could be filed a bit. The nut is cut ok for the string intonation, but looks a little bit "shoved in" to the slot on the E string side. But none of that impacts playability and are probably issues that may/may not be on every bass. The little amp is functional, not very loud but it works. The extras: Cord works, capo is fine, strap is cheap and bag is thin vinyl dust cover (wouldn't trust carrying the bass in it)...but these are all extras. Hey, you got a playable entry level bass for less than $100! The whole idea is to get you started on the instrument and upgrade/modify later.Note this is sold by Ktaxon, who often resell Glarry instruments. The "GB20" bass amp is definitely a Glarry, but mine cane minus the branding logo. Similarly,no name on bass headstock. So it's likely a Glarry undercover!Of course at this price, one can find shortcuts taken and criticize parts. You can't expect perfection. But it's a fully functional bass to get you started, and in this case, didn't need too much to get started playing.

Very good bass for the price amp is quite small
We have replaced the amp because it was way too small for what we needed. I bought this base as a starter for my 14-year-old son. He absolutely fell in love with it. We have started getting him lessons And everyone at the music store and his teacher were impressed that this was an Amazon buy for under a hundred bucks for both. We have upgraded his to something for Christmas that he'll receive during then but overall it produces great sound and it's the perfect learning bass.

Perfect for the price
Great beginners bass. Only issue is that the body of the guitar is really light so it leans toward the neck a bit, especially when standing. But the frets are clear. No dead notes. Im actually surprised how good it sounds in general. The amp, strap and bag are cheap in general but they do their jobs alright. Good value. Very happy.

Great starter kit
I write and record music guitar and vocals being my thing and I found myself in need of a bass that I could use to write and record songs with. Not only is this one nice looking it arrived and was in great shape very little setup needed. If you have a child that is interested in playing music or you just want a bass that is nice but doesn’t break the bank. This is for you.
