Review: Flagship killer - I have been using the iQOO 12 for almost a year now, and its warranty will expire this coming February. iQOO has truly delivered an impressive device. At its price point, it’s fair to call this phone a flagship killer, offering exceptional performance and features. Here’s a detailed breakdown of my experience: Battery: 10/10 The 5000mAh battery is perfect, providing excellent longevity. Paired with 120W fast charging, it charges incredibly quickly and lasts all day with ease. Camera: 8/10 The rear camera performs well, capturing great details and vibrant colors. Selfie Camera: 6/10 The front camera is decent but leaves room for improvement in sharpness and quality. Display: 8/10 The 144Hz LTPO display is impressive, especially at this price, offering smooth visuals and vibrant colors. Software: 7/10 The software is functional and smooth but lacks the advanced AI features and aesthetic enhancements seen in other brands. Connectivity: 10/10 Outstanding connectivity with excellent network reception and support for the latest standards. Gaming: 10/10 This phone truly shines for gaming. The performance, cooling, and responsiveness are perfect for intensive gaming sessions. With the recent launch of the iQOO 13, the brand has introduced exciting improvements. It features a larger vapor cooling system, IP68 water and dust resistance, and camera upgrades rumored to offer better performance for photographers. If these enhancements hold true, the iQOO 13 could set a new benchmark for flagship phones in this price range." Let me know if you’d like more changes!

Beast in this price segment
Cons: 1. Lack of premium sound quality. It's just a sound amplifier and doesn't feel soothing/pleasant when hearing on a full volume with any music. But the sound is really very high and loud. 2. Personally I was using stock Android experience phone before (Nokia 7 plus), but in this phone, Software doesn't feel or give you stock android feel. 3. 360 degree videos which was recorded other google nexus phone does not play good in this. It will play but gives lot of black spots (I think its because of its high display resolution). Basically this should be address via a software. 4. Charging via 120 w charger makes phone more heat. But via other lower watts charging does it's good job. 5. A person who hailed from stock Android experience feels lots of bloatware apps though many people in different channels said that almost no bloatware. I personally uninstalled many bloatware apps using universal bloatware removal tool but some you can't uninstall at all. 6. No memory card slot or 3.5mm headphone jack 7. USB C-type 2.0 - means slow transfer speeds for data transfer via cable. Pros: 1. Very very fast and quick in anything or any activity or any operation. 2. Looks good, feels solid, good and decent in hand. 3. I am not a gamer. But I promise that whoever who plays the heavy to heavy game in this phone are not disappointed. 4. Camera is awesome 4.5/5 5. 28mins to 30 mins to charge 5000mah battery in full. Tested too. 4.5/5 6. Display quality is super in day light. 4/5 7. Lot of customization can be done in settings. (which I personally don't like)

Best budget flagship of 2024 : Phone with DSLR ownership experience
Using Iqoo 12 Alpha 512/16GB variant since a week. Camera is outstanding, phone operating performance is too smooth, network & data speed is awesome, data transfer is unbelievably outstanding, display is too good. Here I will rate individuals: Rear camera : 10/10 Front camera : 7/10 Display : 10/10 Speakers : 9/10 Network & Data : 10/10 Wireless connectivity: 9/10 Data transfer : 10/10 (Both wired & wireless) Build quality: As of now it seem strong OS : 7/10 (OS side improvement required a little bit, but you won't find issues though in routine) The phone stand different because of few following things which less discussed. It has WiFi 7 & UFS4.0, both makes data transfer wired & wirelss in smooth manner, There is no phone in this price can do this. Camera is really magical, normal, telephoto, portrait works really well. Also, OIS in video recording works really awesome, it has horizontal lock in OiS which records steady portrait video even if camera rotated 360 degree. Photos are well in low light too which you can't expect in this budget flagships. If you are about to purchase entry level DSLR along with phone, this phone can serve for both except few high end requirements. Front camera is okay or can say good if proper loght is there, Don't expect Vivo selfie feel in this. Charging speed is magical, it takes 30 minutes from 10% to 100%. There are some minor software issues are there which they are listening & working on too so no worries about it, they can resolve them in upcoming updates. I suggest to check all detailed technical specifications before purchasing as this is my personal experience review with my expectations. This is my first phone with such budget and I'm satisfied well for what i paid. Note : Few users may have reported battery drain and heating. I can say high network variations & constant heavy processing in CPU & GPU can make it, but as of now I've not faced either. If you use phone in well manner, it won't disappoint.

Gaming Performance
I’ve been using the iQOO 12 for a few weeks now, and I must say, it’s an absolute powerhouse when it comes to gaming. The performance is top-notch, delivering smooth, lag-free gameplay across all my favorite titles like PUBG Mobile, Call of Duty Mobile, and Genshin Impact. The Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset paired with the high refresh rate display makes everything buttery smooth. I haven’t noticed any stuttering or frame drops even during intense gaming sessions. The device stays surprisingly cool too, even when pushing it to its limits, thanks to its excellent cooling system. The touch response is highly responsive, and the gaming-specific features like Game Space help optimize performance, making it feel like a dedicated gaming phone. Battery life is also impressive, lasting through long sessions without needing a charge. When I do need to recharge, the 120W fast charging is a lifesaver – I can go from 0 to 100% in no time! If you’re a serious gamer looking for a phone that can keep up with your needs, the iQOO 12 is definitely worth considering. The overall experience is just fantastic, and I highly recommend it for anyone who enjoys mobile gaming at its best!

Performance and camera
Absolute beast, can't believe I'm writing review after 3 year of purchase. Still good at gaming. no lag no hang. Heating is one thing which occurs every hard-core gaming but still it is bearable. Can't compare camera but still good. Catches bright and colourful images with above good clarity.

Long term review
It's been 5m since I bought this phone had a great experience, switched from iqoo neo 6 and this upgrade is worth it if you want best performance and overall good camera, the photos are really good as it's vivo's sub brand so the image pipeline is really good just vibrant on some occasions but you will not be disappointed. And the video quality is the one which surprised me the most it's actually really not iPhone level but up there, really good video zoom just use pro mode if you want to pull out the most details keep it around 500 ISO AND EVERYTHING AUTO, video in night auto mode is good but it does have some grains in it. Battery life if good if you play bgmi, you will probably get 6 hours I play with smooth 90fps and 4x anti aliasing and don't use frame interpolation there is slight delay in gyro but does make it smoother but not recommended. Battery is good few games and camera ussage will probably get you 6+ hours and light usage will get 8 hours +. Charging takes 35 min to full charge. I haven't updated my phone since July, if you're in July patch then don't update that's the best update I've had and tested for performance and camera quality and would not recommend updating your phone as all other companies it might slow down if you want to update then look it up first then decide if you want update the software but wouldn't recommend only if the banking or other apps need the latest firmware the you need to update or you can go to the service centre and ask them to downgrade. ( I hope vivo and iqoo bring custom rom support because that would be great to have like poco and oneplus ). Pros * Good camera for the price could be bit better in video. * One of the best gaming phones does heat up but in a controlled way and cools down pretty fast. * Really Fast charging speed ( does heat a bit nothing to bother or just open settings - battery - charging and disable fast charging it will slightly slow down charging speed but it will decrease phone's surface temp ). * Good display very bright overall really good screen. * Very good after sale service ( disclaimer had experience with previous phone iqoo Neo 6 regarding screen replacement bit pricey but really good experience and very fast. Cons * Mediocre Selfie camera my old IQoo Neo 6 had better selfie's than this paid 55k for a phone and no 4k Selfie video front is the biggest downside of this phone. * UI is good very reliable but not as good as other Android Skins ( Just updated to android 15 did make a way better and smoother but could be better). * And audio transmitter has kinda bad the output is not upto to the mark with bluetooh specifically had same problem with my Neo 6 my poco f1 had really good audio Dec on board than this two new phones. Overall - 4.4/5 This is rating is based on my experience, and also to point out I'm very heavy user, so the fact that it is able to keep up with demands is actually very commendable, And a brief disclaimer I am a long term iqoo user been using iqoo brand since 2022 but overall the phone is really good and has impressed me. That's the reason I'm taking my time and giving a review here. Quick update And BTW regarding updating your phone I still stand by NOT UPDATING YOUR PHONE, but I have updated to android 15 I did reasearch thoroughly and decided update because there were a lot improvement and I don't plan on updating after this update ( So the phone is on android 15 Nov security patch ).
