They work GREAT. I only need them when I am (or ...
I have chronic DVTs in both calves. These are the exact same stockings that my local CVS sells, but at less than half the price. They work GREAT. I only need them when I am (or have) been immobile for awhile (such as a long car or airplane trip). My left leg is worse than my right, and I double these up on my left leg (which pretty much doubles the pressure). This will prevent problems, and if I am somehow caught without this protection, a couple of days wearing them will get me right. The real trick is getting them on in the first place. Applying a mixture of cornstarch and talcum powder (such as Shower to Shower powder) to the foot/calf helps greatly. The big mistake is applying the stockings without allowing enough space in the toe area, such that the toes are "crunched up" by the stocking. It's like wearing shoes that are too small - your feet will soon begin to hurt.

Very Helpful for Lower Leg Swelling
I purchased these for my mother after she had hip replacement surgery. Some swelling of the lower extremeties is normal after surgery, and my mother's wasn't extreme, by any means, but her doctor suggested that she used compression socks. They fit perfectly, though she wasn't able to put them on or pull them up by herself right after surgery (she couldn't move very much), so I helped. They were snug, as they were supposed to be, and it was a little challenging getting them on since she couldn't really help much by moving her legs.Other than that, though, she wore them as directed, and the swelling went down pretty quickly. Within several days, the swelling was gone and never came back. She also didn't have any issues with blood clots/embolisms.I should also note that these come in different sizes, so make sure to click the link for sizing information on it's product page. One is supposed to measure the widest part of their calves and length from floor to knee. For my mother, we decided to order "Large" - if I remember correctly, her calf size was about 14" or so.

Not a great fit
I wear compression socks daily, so comfort, support, and durability are very important to me. These stockings are very durable and easy to launder, but not as comfortable as other brands that I own. The material is a bit rough, but my biggest complaint is the fit. There is no proper place for the heel, just a rectangular reinforced area that presumably fits along the achilles tendon, so I end up with a small amount of extra material around my ankles that I have to find a way to distribute. The toe area is also a bit baggy, and I don't like that the material there is thinner than the rest of the sock; however, I do like that it doesn't squeeze my toes. I find that they stay in place well, and provide good support, but are just not as comfortable as my other socks. In addition, these socks are considerably more expensive than the other stockings I have.

Great fit and support!
I just had a surgery and am required to wear compression socks for 6 weeks. I’ve ordered a couple other brands but I like this Futuro brand because the top does not squeeze as tight around the knee as the other brands! Consequently, I don’t have to fuss with moving it up and down under my knee like I do with the others. It still stays up by itself just fine and the compression portion all along the calf and ankle can actually be felt massaging! I feel it’s a stronger compression/anti embolism sock than the others.

Prone to snagging and too tight
I bought three pairs of these after I had surgery and developed DVT. The material is very thin, especially in the toe area. They are nylon tights, NOT socks. They snagged on the bottom the first time I wore them, which resulted in a hole. They are also very tight, which makes getting them on and off quite difficult, especially if you’re in a weakened state. That said, it takes effort and lots of pulling to get them on. They’re also quite long, covering the knee. I have to fold them over so that they aren’t bunching up behind my knee or covering my knee. I bought these only because they are affordable compared to much better brands like Jobst.
