I was very cautious about spending silly money on a razor: but after years of not getting a great shave from the different and advanced Philishaves that I bought, I did so. This razor is excellent at shaving: I am quite surprised at just how good it is. The cleaning technology (electronic controlled) is somewhat wacky, but never mind. A great close shave - as good as wet.

Had a Series 7 which broke after a few years so just comparing with that. Shave appears to be better. Much quieter. Preferred battery life and cleanliness indicators on Series 7. Beard trimmer awkward on rear- whereas on front on the 7 Quieter charger.

Just a point of interest. This comes with a 2 pin shaver plug with the charger built in so if you don’t have a shaver socket (I don’t) then you will have to purchase an adapter. Also the shaver has zero charge which is unusual these days so I'm still waiting to use it while I wait for my adapter. May alter review from the 2 stars when I get to use it

I started shaving regularly when I bought this machine because it makes shaving really quick, with FEWER cuts. It's better than a cheaper foil shaver I have, but not better than a wet shave for my lean face and neck. I get smooth cheeks and jawline, but stubble remains on creases and my neck. This shaver is decent for everyday use, but I'll have to wet-shave for those smooth face events.

When I bought the shaver I didn’t realise that I had purchased from a 3rd party seller. 6 month later, the Smart Care Cleaning Centre stopped working. I contact Braun and they informed me that the ‘invoice wasn’t valid for warranty’. So, only buy if Amazon is the seller. Poor from Braun. A note on the shaver itself: it never properly kept hold of the shavings and my top would be covered in them. A bit of a mess really.

Reasonable shave but I thought it would be better after that price. Documentation very poor I found the pictures confusing. No information on the cleansing station like how often due you recommend to carry out the task. How long does the process take etc. I failed several times to register the product
