Bob Skates Double Runner Ice Skates

We have actually only used the skates twice, but the price of the skates was cheaper than the price of one visit to the local indoor rink, where we used to have to go to rent skates (our free outdoor rink didn't have rentals). When we did rent "real" skates, my 2 yr old hated it, I think because the skates were too binding and felt awkward for her. These are GREAT because the kid just wears his/her regular snow boots, so it is comfy for their first skating experiences. Also I love how the skates will grow with the child, and are genderless.

I have had the WORST experiance with this company! I sent 8 emails asking to cancel this order they didn't respond until the day before the skates got here. They never answered the phone. The skates wouldn't even hold together. This is the biggest waste of money!!!

It broke while my son was skating, they needs soldering again. The straps also are very poorly designed, I think that the straps was going to break any minute.

The skates are great for learning, however the straps are something to be desired. I removed the starps and made some of my own after a quick trip to REI for some nylon webbing and some buckle fasteners. Now the fit my boys feet snuggly and he really loves to get out skating. It's amazing how many people come up to us and ask about the skates as they don't seem to be as easily available anymore.

These skates were great for getting a little kid out on the ice for the first time! Only problem was keeping the butterfly nut tight, but for the most part it was a great investment!

I bought these skates for my two year old with some hesitation, after reading the other product reviews. We have had a great experience with them however. We've had no trouble with the screw on the bottom and even the leather straps have been working just fine. We actually went to REI and bought some velcro sport straps to use in place of the leather ones that came with the skates, but have not even had to use them yet as we've had no problem with the leather ones. And my daughter LOVES to be out on the ice now, happily chasing her older sister all around the rink. This is a huge difference from the constant crying that we used to have when we tried to get her to wear the more standard double-bladed skates. I would definitely recommend these skates to anyone with younger kids who are brand new to skating!!

These skates were a gift for my 18 month old niece,she was very happy to get them as were her parents. I really liked that these are metal not plastic and have leather straps versus velcro. Being adjustable these skates work perfect for a growing kid. Some have complained about the nut coming loose to avoid that I bought a nylock wing nut to replace these otherwise a great product. No complaints.

We finally used these for the first time and one of the welds on the skate broke. No way to fix them.
