Let me start off by stating that I am large dude! 315lbs with a big and heavy head! I sleep HOT and often wake up sweaty. I've tried hundreds of pillows and could never find one that was supportive for my large noggin but also comfortable and most importantly COOLING! It always seemd like you get one or the other. This Active Dough memory foam is really incredible and makes this pillow well worth the price. Its as comfortable as sleeping on a Down Feather Pillow without feeling like your laying on a stiff block of Styrofoam like most other brands of "Coolong Memory foam". But it is incredibly coolong too! The holes in the pillow allow perfect amount of air flow and the Doughynes of the pillow provides the perfect amount cushioning for my head! Keep in mind this doesn't feel like regular Memory foam that you are used to, it is quite literally like a Doughy/Puddy feeling that runs cool while the memory foam adds just the right amount of spring/bounce back to it. I sleep on my back, sides, and stomach and this pillow fits all those categories. I've purchased one about 3 years ago and just now bought a new one and and can't tell the difference between the two with the pillow cases on! They really last long. The only con I think of is that they smell a little bit when you first opennit,nbut the smell will disappear in about 24hrs. This pillow is well worth the investment and trying if you sleep heavy and hot. Malouf is a hiden gem!

I had been using a contoured memory foam pillow but disliked how it looked on the bed and how the firmness squished my face when laying on my side (wrinkles!). It's not as supportive on the neck as a contoured pillow but works well enough for me and haven't given me headaches. Sleeps much cooler than the memory foam. My husband got the Rejuvenite Talalay Latex Medium pillow, which for me, is too high and flexes my neck forward. This pillow is a little lower, less bouncy, and the zoning helps my head sink in. The ActiveDough is awesome! Soft, squishy, springy, a nice mix of memory foam and latex. My only concern is longevity because it seems more delicate, like a sponge cake, than the other materials.

I purchased this pillow from the manufacturer 5 years ago and loved it but it was time to replace. The Amazon price was much better sou gave it a shot. The material is much less dense and provides no support. It’s very spongey with little resistance. I immediately knew I would be returning it. I still have the packaging from the first one I bought and they are marketed/branded the same but the second time around the quality dropped severely. The new pillow is even thinner than my one that is worn out and 5yrs old. It is marketed as ‘medium’ support but it is truly very little support.

I stayed with a friend who has several of these pillows so I knew I would enjoy mine. I've had the pillow for 2 weeks and it still has a strange smell though...to the point where it wakes me up at night. I'm hoping it goes away. That is my only negative feedback.

I bought this because my husband has one, and I loved it so much. You get what you pay for, and this was worth every penny. Plus they last forever!

The charcoal pillow was immediately out. It was hard as a rock. Hubby and I both liked the gel infused because it had the perfect amount of support. It wasn’t too plush where your head sinks too far down and you’re swallowed up by the pillow and it wasn’t too hard (like the charcoal) where you’d be charged for assault with a deadly weapon if you ever used it in a pillow fight. 😬 Unfortunately hubby is a stomach sleeper and the gel mid loft was a little too high for him. So off on the great perfect pillow search we went...again...and we landed here at the gel active dough pillow.This pillow was terrible for us. But it might be exactly what you’re looking for so I’ll go into detail. This pillow has one amazing, shining quality in that the gel truly does keep the pillow soooo cool. It’s like magic...or science 😁. Now, it’s also extremely soft and plush and springy. As in, no support whatsoever. Your head sinks in and the pillow just wraps around your head and swallows you up whole 😜. But honestly, those qualities actually weren’t this pillow’s downfall. No, this pillow smelled exactly like a skunk. I’ve had many memory foam products in my lifetime and I know they all have that distinct smell that goes away in a few days. But this one was different. I kept politely asking the hubby what he had eaten that day because I thought it was him. He swore it was not. I told him it was coming from his side of the bed sooooo. He said he thought it might be the pillow. I told him he could at least blame it on the dog instead of an inanimate object like a pillow. He swore it was the pillow and....it really was the pillow. It was bad. Real bad. Super bad. So we returned skunky back to amazon.Now we’re on pillow number 3 for the hubby and he likes it so far. First off, pillows are definitely unique to each individual. Both my husband and I needed new pillows. After buying one Malouf pillow for my husband that was just right, I bought another from this brand after borrowing his one night. I went with a softer Malouf pillow. I went through four other highly recommended brands until we found Malouf. Highly recommend buying different levels from this brand to choose your right fit. I was a little unsure at first, but the deep sleep and morning comfort doesn’t lie.
