Effective, not too hard to fit, good price!
Firstly, treat yourself to a pair of white cotton gloves (less than £1.50 on this website...) - it will stop your naturally oily fingerprints ending up on both sides of this fine product. I cut each piece to size first - 4 small to medium double glazed window panels. Then... the hardest part of using such products is separating the protective backing film from the main product (which is nearly black on one side - the side that faces out) and partially see through on other side. And as every review or instruction says... use tons of soapy water on the window AND on the (now unprotected) film sheet. Then put it in place, and drive the bubbles outwards, using a window-cleaning squeegee. And it's OK (and effective) to press really hard to slowly press the bubble outwards towards the edges, and released in a squirt of soapy water. Or, at lesat on my double glazed small panels, I was able to press really hard, and get a good even fix. Enjoy, it's worth it!

Works great in day time
Easy enough to install - it did take 2 people; 1 to hold it down flat and the other to make the cuts. The stick is good enough. This DOESN'T work in the night time, however.

Good product the first time ordering but second order the shiny side came away and the product was just see-through.1 out of 2 failing is a fail all round

Awful.
Thick product that on fa e value should not be any issue at all.The consistency of the transparency leaves alot to be desired. What appears to be cloudy patches are often seen.Window allowed to settle witht the film on it but keeps lifting off.Best way of describing the view through the window with the film is like I'm looking, but should have my lasses on to clear up the image.Regards the reflective quality of the product, it's poor to say the least.Expected alot better for the money

Works as advertised, just take your time
The front of our house faces the west and there is not any trees or shade in the front of the house. There are 9 full windows and are all double pained. Also, we have a full storm door and the main door knob was too hot to use the electronic lock in the summer. I had purchased cellular window shades to try to keep the heat from the sun out of the rooms and while it works, it’s not as effective as I wanted. We have central air and needed to do something else since the front rooms were always really warm in the summer and the back rooms were not.I had been doing research on how to reduce the effects of heat through the glass and also sun blocking and finally purchased these rolls.Preparation work on the windows is a MUST. Clean them with window cleaner and then use a razor blade to make sure there isn’t anything stuck to each window. I used a cloth rag to brush away anything left on the window. If you don’t completely clear the windows, you will see the dirt streaks or marks under the film.I used a piece of plywood enable me to measure and cut the film with an Exacto knife. The Draino bottles in the pictures were to hold the end of the film so I can measure and cut the film, using the T square to try to keep the cuts straight. I only cut the film from the roll and then did the final cuts on the window. When installing I sprayed the window with a water/dishwashing solution then placed and used a small squeegee to push the water and air out of in-between the film and window enough to hold the film onto the window. Adhesion to the window was simple easy to use once the protective film was removed. After getting the film stable on the window I then used a small straight edge ruler to push the film down and as close to the edge of the pane of glass and guide the knife along the edge of the window. Make sure you check all edges prior to cutting and take your time. The film cuts very easily. There is a noticeable difference in temperature in the front rooms as I did all nine windows and the full storm door. I’m not sure about AC cost reduction yet. I do know that the bedrooms and front downstairs rooms are much cooler upstairs. The house seems to be more equalized in temperature with all this hot weather we have experienced recently. The door knob isn’t extremely hot in the afternoon. The windows do look a little different with the film and you can’t see into them during the day. The top windows in my picture are completed. We went with the silver film as it’s not completely “blacked out” and the window appears to just have a “shine” in them. That’s great and I am impressed with the film.

Works fine if you follow the directions
My neighbor recently cut down a HUGE tree that was starting to lean in the direction of my house, so I was extremely grateful! The funny thing was, after it was cut down, the amount of light that came into my bedroom in the morning was like a spotlight! This has helped some, not a huge difference but kind of noticeable. I also used it in another room that gets a good amount of light but not as much and that room was more noticeable. In total i was able to do 4 sets of windows that were 23"x17" (tops and bottoms)I read and reread the directions and then followed them and it came out great. I had a person helping me a little bit but I was able to do most of it on my own. The other person mainly helped in taking off the protective layer while i sprayed with the soapy water but I was able to do the rest by myself, i would have definitely been able to manage if i was alone. I used one of those compounding spatula things that are wide as my metal straight edge when I cut the excess from the window (i used a crafting blade). I put liquid dish soap in a spray bottle and sprayed very liberally and of course a squeegee with rubber edge. If you look close, i can see very thin scratches from the squeegee so I don't know if that is because of the way I did it or it is a very delicate product but it is only noticeable if you get right up to the window. I'm considering buying another roll for my larger living room windows to cut back on the glare to the TV.
