Cat absolutely despises it, tips below
So, I have no idea how other people get their cat(s) to eat this willingly, but I guess some people claim to enjoy brussel sprouts so... anyways ours absolutely despises it. Have come to only two effective options, both effective, one evil, one dishonest.Evil (kinda, not really, cat would disagree tho) option is to just put a pea sized amount on the top of the paw. They really hate this, and will lick it all off. I've been told this is an okey thing to do. Cat disagrees strongly though. Effective but cat rates this method 0 out of 10.Not as evil option, though still kinda like, lying maybe, is to mix it with some mmmmm so tastey regular cat goop. Like the kind you get as a treat, of whatever variety is their favorite. Cat can still definitely tell that the goop is.. mildly off, but will still consume. I'm sure if you hated mushrooms or something but gramma would blend it into the pasta sauce. Just like you, the cat will not be traumatized if they never discover the truth. Keep the secret to your grave.

My cat likes it
It's thick, and erm the smell is lowkey weird but my cat eats it off my finger without any issues.

Catlax is preferred
We have used Catlax for years. It works very well for our Siamese and he is not irritated when we use it.

This is what my Vet uses
every time my cat starts stepping out of routine of going to the food dish meowing like crazy at meal time but doesn't gobble down his food, I know he's probably plugged up, or if he hesitates and acts hungry and wines and meows a lot and demands lots of attention, I can expect the fur ball barfarrama games to begin. I hate that sound, followed by that sprint to try to catch him in time to throw him out before he blows hairballs and undigested nasty smelly ........ it's always on the sofa, my favorite shoes, pillow, chair, something the is impossible to clean or dry clean. So I pay attention to this cycle of his, its easy to squeeze it in the back of his mouth. I just hold him under my arm on the counter, until he is purring with my arm over his spine and hand over his whole head index finger on one side of his jaw and thumb on the other gently caressing him on his nose and chin pressing him down onto the counter for leverage and agains my chest into a good firm gentle hold with the open tube in my right hand I tip his head up, force open his jaw with my left finger and thumb. he struggles a bit but can't bite and can't go anywhere and squirt a good size glob into the back of his mouth towards his throat. Don't worry, he's breathing through his nose and will swallow it. then I shut his mouth and rub his throat until he puts again. a little will leak out the sides. it is quite tasty. It's cod-liver oil and cats like the flavor. and will lick up the spill. and then drink a bunch of water. I let him fast for about 6 hours except water and then feed him, his prescribed vet soft cat food just a table spoon of EN wet canned food, then 2 hours later if he did not puke I will give him another table spoon. and then 4 hours later I will give him another table spoon of food and 4 hours later I will give him another tablespoon of food. I will try to give him a tablespoon of dry EN cat food the next day and if he throws up then I will give him another and it clears him right up and have my normal cat back. This stuff has saved me hundreds of dollars of vet bills. My poor cat has had lots of GI problems with fur balls vomiting, not eating and loosing weight. He is 9 years old now. I started off taking him to the Vet and getting him diagnosed first, don't ever self diagnose. But this stuff is the best once the vet recommends what the problem is to get him on a routine for passing those hairball blockages and keeping that GI tract working good and it is really easy and fast to give. at least it is for my cat who is sweet and cooperative. Now I know other cats may not be. this is the first and only cat Ive ever owned. I am not a cat person.
