Sticky. But ok. Once you can open it.
I have little experience with castor oil, but I’ve found it’s terribly sticky. It says you can just put it in your hair or on your skin, but ew. It makes my hair so greasy immediately, and sticky, and I don’t like it. I think this is an issue with all castor oil. So. What can you use it for?Padding out other oils. There are some other carrier oils you can use for massage oils, calming oils, or essential oil perfumes. Or face oils. Coconut oil and olive oil are easy, I like almond oil, organ oil is good too, and there are more. Some of these are more expensive than others. So get yourself some nice little roll-on bottles or travel bottles, and mix up your own stuff. (Look up calming oils for travel!)You can mix castor oil into skin lotion. That makes it easier to spread the castor oil, to get those benefits without it being gross.Yeah, you can put it in your hair. It’s gross, but you can leave it overnight if you are planning to wash your hair in the morning. This particular castor oil says for external use only, so don’t try to eat it.I took off a star because the stupid seal was hard to open. No one wants to deal with that.

Useful Therapeutic Grade Castor Oil!
This is big bottle of castor oil which has multitude of uses. One such is taking care of your hair. Castor oil has natural antibacterial and anti-fungal properties and is high in vitamin E, minerals, proteins, and omega-6 and -9 beneficial fatty acids. Its unusually high ricinoleic acid ratio makes it beneficial to skin and hair. Just do not attempt to drink it as it is highly stimulant laxative, castor oil shouldn't be taken in the long term internal use. This oil is for external use only. The product description says "Colorless & odorless" but it does have some pungent odor! If you can tolerate the castor oil's sort of pungent smell then the benefits outweighs the smell! The only quibble I have is that the bottle could have been made out of real glass. The plastic bottle while does help in squeezing the thick oil out of the container it does add some worry about long term storage. Please store it where it is protected from heat and moisture.Rating the product with three stars!

Expires 3 months after arrival
Luckily, I plan to use this mostly for soap-making, and I can use up an entire pound of this very quickly that way. Because otherwise, this would expire well before I'd be able to use it on my hands and other rough spots. I got this a few days before May, 2019, and there's a big sticker on the wrapper that says this expires in August, 2019. Yikes! I don't know if that's the date it would start getting rancid, but in any case, I would think they would ship fresher product. That said, right now the oil is wonderful. It is incredibly thick and viscous, with a light scent that reminds me of sesame oil. It moisturizes hands better than almost anything else I've tried, and really leaves skin soft. I've used castor oil on everything from rough skin to baby/diaper care to childbirth needs to homemade beauty products. Currently I'm using it to give extra conditioning factors in my soapmaking. This is a versatile and wonderful oil, and I love that it's organic and seems mild and high-quality, but I really wish it had a longer shelf life.

Good For Eczema - Plastic Bottle
I've been using organic castor oil for eczema in my ears of all places. It is sticky, but it lasts & has enabled me to get off of the steroid ointment the Dr. prescribed completely. That's right, no more need for expensive steroid creams. I just use castor oil when needed. =DI've heard it works great for castor oil packs to remove toxins. I always mean to try it on my belly for menstrual cramps (I even have the wool flannel cloths to do this) but I never do, so I can't report on how castor oil works for that. This brand of castor oil seems to work just as well as my typical brand. The only reason I took off a star is because it comes in a plastic bottle. With all the pollution in our world, oceans filled with plastic bottles, landfills filled with plastic bottles, & fish filled with plastic particles, it's time manufacture moved away from plastic. It's not like amber glass bottles aren't available. If you want certified organic castor oil in amber glass bottles, I recommend: Heritage Store.Link: https://smile.amazon.com/Heritage-Store-Christi-Moisturizer-Fragrance/dp/B004IU8NAC?ref_=bl_dp_s_web_17899207011If you aren't concerned or for some reason don't like glass, then this brand will suit your needs well.

Still prefer MRH Castor Oil
The media could not be loaded. I typically use organic Castor oil from MRH, it runs $10 for 16 oz and $36 for 64 oz., the origin is India, has a shelf life of 2 years, cold expeller pressed, colorless and has a slight nutty scent. The Europa Essentials organic oil is $14.98 for 16 oz, it does have a golden color (even-though it says its colorless), it does have a slight nutty scent (it’s not odorless), not sure of the origin as it’s not stated on the bottle or the processing method. And it’s not as thick as the one I already use. The web site address is not correct either. I eventually found their website, not much information about the company. Yes, Castor oil has therapeutic properties but there is no such label as therapeutic-grade, this is actually cosmetic-grade for use in skin care. The only positives, it’s organic and safety sealed with take and inner white cap.
