PERFECT EVERY TIME
I can't recommend these enough. Easily reconstituted. Just a few of them put into water gives you enough crunch in a salad or soup so no need to go crazy. One cannister lasted me more than a year. Used them for my Hot-n-Sour soup and other things I wanted a nice "crunch" in. Nice, mellow flavor too. I will always buy these because it's just about a perfect product for what I use them for. Just soak, rinse, dice and mix into whatever you're fixing :)

It's not really a question of "flavor"
These, once hydrated, have the texture of an inner tube and not much flavor. They add interest and color to the dish. Cut them fine and don't let them dominate.

Slimy and mushy
I’ve had plenty of woodear mushrooms. Their texture is usually a bit firm and chewy after reconstituting. In the 10 years since I’ve started incorporating them into my diet, I’ve never had them turn into slimy and mushy blobs that fall apart like these did. The taste might be fine, but they’re entirely inedible due to texture. I’ll be buying from another brand going forward.

Fantastic--Clean and Delicious
I was planning to make a ramen-inspired soup at home and one of my favorite ingredients in Chinese soups are woodear mushrooms. I tried these on a whim, hoping that they would be as good as the fungus in my takeout cuisine. I boiled water in my tea kettle and poured it over the mushrooms in a glass bowl. A few minutes later they'd rehydrated beautifully. I washed them several times but mine where much cleaner than I expected. I trimmed the ends and voila--they were ready to dice and use in my recipe. I made a soy/sesame/ginger/garlic/fish sauce dressing and tossed them with some wakame seaweed and green onions. It was so delicious. I used about half of the container which yielded a lot but not as much as I'd hoped so I will find myself ordering much sooner than I would have liked at this price but I have nothing but amazing things to say about the quality!

Solid
They taste right, aren't the largest pieces (but do expand significantly). Warm water makes them slimy; a cold soak is better, IMO.

Produces a lot of mushrooms!
I hydrated maybe 1/6 of the package which produced enough to fill a large takeout soup container and little go a long way! The mushrooms don't taste like much on their own, but absorb flavors well and have a great texture.

Great value
I read others reviews and made sure to rehydrate with cold water instead of warm and they were just fine. Once rehydrated this is a lot of value for the money!!

Serious quality concern
I wish I could give it a Zero star. After soaking, the wood ear mushrooms did not hold their shape at all and had a mushy, unpleasant texture. After a small taste, my tongue felt numb and had to throw them to trash immediately. I have eaten wood ear mushrooms my whole life and have never encountered anything like this. They lacked the normal crisp texture and flavor and raised concerns about quality and safety.

Excellent. Probably the best ‘kikurage’ I have ever eaten even though I have been eating it since I was born (pretty much). I rehydrated it slightly differently from the instructions: I put it in a large bowl and pour boiling water over it, leave it for a few seconds, add cold water to the bowl, chuck the water out and squeeze it hard to get rid of any moisture out of it. And ready to use. Kikurage is extremely good for you and it has no calories. I use it as often as possible. Beautiful in any stir fry. Trust me. I’m Japanese.

Soak well, or thire rubber. Good flavour

Bin sehr zufrieden.
