Life saver
We had a wall of landscape blocks fall. It was over a bank. We ordered this item and put it on the bucket of a backhoe and lifted them all back to the top. Great product!

very heavy - well made!
This thing is tough! The spikes are almost sharp, but not quite. The paint is thick and hard. I'm pretty sure its powder coat paint. Regardless, what it is, its tough. The D shackle pin is welded in on both sides, so it won't come loose. The pivot bolts have nylock nuts to keep them from coming loose. Its cut from heavy plate steel.I'll probably never use it to pull a pallet. I bought to to drag logs with my tractor. I also have a set of logging tongs, but sometimes they don't bite well on a log. Most of the time they bite fine first try. Every once in a while it takes many attempts to get them to stay on a log. This is a better design. The scissor hinge design puts more clamping force on the log than my tongs. Though I will likely modify it a little. I'm thinking about replacing the pair of pivot bolts with longer bolts so they stick out a couple inches extra. Yeah, they'll sorta be in the way like that, but then I can put a bungee cord on the bolts to hold it shut to help it get its initial bite into the log. It wouldn't make sense for them to sell it that way. The tool is tough and will last forever. Putting a weak bungee cord on it that won't last long will just generate complaints. But for me, being able to easily add a bungee when needed is helpful.Imagine logs down in a creek bed, plugging up a deep narrow creek so it floods after a heavy rain. Pulling them out is pretty easy with a tractor and chain if this grips the first time. If it slips off the log a few times, climbing down into the creek each time to put it back on the log gets old real quick...Design wise, I think this is as good as i gets for what I'm trying to do. And did I mention its very well built?

Pallet Grabber
I picked up this pallet grabber to see if I could put it to good use. It actually comes in pretty handy. Its a scissor jaw that grabs tighter as the pull on the line increases. It's worked out really well moving pallets around and sorting. It's really great for getting pallets from the middle of a stack over to the edge of a delivery truck so you can pull it off with a forklift. It's also come in handy for other types of grabs I have used it for. Moving logs is one of those, but I won't go into detail. This things is rated over 6000lbs and it is capable of pulling some large and heavy items around without any problems at all. It has been put to the test and I am happy with it.

Heavy duty and srong
The metal is very heavy and strong and I have a feeling that you're rope would break or chain before this item would. It does have a fair amount of weight to it so it can be heavy if you're a smaller person but you'll want that ability for what it is made for. I can see using this to pull post and small trees out of the ground along with moving pallets. It secures tightly on any object that you put tension on and all you need to do is release the tension to release the item. The gloves that came with it are also a nice little added bonus. Very easy to use and I have faith that it would securely grasp anything I needed it to. The paint coating is also a good quality and does not scratch easily. The teeth on the end for the grip are also strong and should not break. Overall extremely happy and satisfied with this.

Heavy duty puller
Ordered this to pull stumps with on the property. It's made from very thick 9/16" steel and is very heavy. Welds look very solid as well. My only complaint is the metric grade 8.8 bolts. This is equivalent to an inch grade 5 bolt. It would be nice to have a spare set ship with this puller but we will see how well it performs once my property thaws out. Right now I'm pretty happy with this and can't wait to put it through its paces.
