Great Coffee Mug for Those Who Like To Use a Straw or for Special Needs!
This mug has been terrific for my husband who has Parkinsons and needs to use a straw to drink his coffee. Some of the snap on lids on coffee mugs pop off when he drops it, leaving a whole mug of coffee on the floor. Others are metal and he needs something that he can use in the microwave. I have had this mug now for about 3 months and it has worked out well. He can microwave his coffee when it gets cold and when he drops it there is very little spillage. There is no lid to speak of but rather a type of rubber seal on top which is permanently connected to the mug. When you pull it up and twist, it closes as tightly around the straw as you want, closing all the way if you wish. I highly recommend for anyone with special needs.

Buy A Different Cup...Any Other Cup.
Just....gross. I didn't read the description and didn't realize this was a mug that you twisted soft rubber to close. That was my fault so I decided to give this weirdo cup a try. The cardboard packaging was all torn inside the Amazon packaging. The included straw had a strong chemical smell, and the cup itself gave my coffee a taste like chewing on a deflated balloon (don't ask, I was a strange kid). It's definitely not leak proof, as my white dress shirt can attest. Finally, even after washing by hand when it arrived, the top had a weird powdery residue on it that ended up floating on top of the drinks in it. I planned to use it until I found another, but only made it 3 days. I sincerely hope whoever developed this 'innovative' cup moved on successfully to something else. It's a sad, weird, smelly, unpleasant cup. If you're looking for a plastic coffee mug for work - keep looking.

This mug looks like Uranus.....
Holds coffee tight as a drum. I was surprised by how well built it is and also how well it seals. I would definitely recommend.

Works once you get the hang of it, doesn't last
6 month update:The silicone top has torn after about 6 months of use, rendering this mug useless (see attached image). It will no longer seal. Revising my original review to 2 stars, due to the poor durability of this product. I would not recommend this.Original view after initial use:This travel mug works quite well once you get a hang of the "lid". Sometimes the lid can slip off the track and jam if you don't know exactly the right way to open/close it. That being said, once it closes it forms an excellent seal against liquid every time. Having the cap integral to the mug is also super convenient, and cleaning is easy as well. It does an OK job of keeping things hot, but not a great job. It will cool down fairly quickly (hot to lukewarm in maybe an hour), though nowhere near as quick as a regular mug or cup. When you open the lid, the silicone lid acts as a spring and will try to wrench the lid open, so you need to be careful opening/closing the mug. I tried to do it 1-handed and ended up spilling coffee all over my desk.All-in-all it works well for my purposes and I'm pretty satisfied.

Love it!
My husband loves a trace mug he can use a straw with and they are very hard to find these days because everything has become spill proof. I purchased this one for him for Christmas and he uses it every day!It took a little time to get used to and I don’t love hand washing, but overall it is absolutely worth it! Great cup!
