This shovel is beautiful, and it's made super duty, It's style is like back in early 1900s, with a heavy duty thick drop forged head, nice hardwood handle, with a metal bracket supporting a nice wood handle to hold onto. With normal care this should last a lifetime. This is a truly professional tool, made for hard work. I know it's a specialized asphalt shovel but I bought for typical square point short hand shovel work, it may prove to be more tiring to use than one of those cheap "home owner" shovels due to the weight, but I had to sand off the sharp edges on my plastic handle cheapo which would tear up my hands and I bent the thin stamped head .

nothing wrong with the product , just a bit too heavy for my DAD I exchanged it for aluminum

This shovel is head and shoulders above hardware brand no competition. They are hard to find and more money, but if you are doing a lot of work they are worth every penny.
