Good value
I'm a professional auto mechanic and probably 75% of the cars I work on have failed hood struts. Since most people won't replace bad hood struts it's good to have these clamps around rather than using vice grips. These clamps work very well for holding up a hood even with the extra weight of a battery powered under hood light. As for the threaded hole in the base of the clamp, I have no idea what it could be used for because no spark plug I've ever seen would fit it. Besides the pointless threaded hole these are a good value, very useful and well worth the price.
