The Book of Questions: Revised and Updated

This is really what is says on the tin - It does challenge you to question not only yourself, but your surroundings.Are you worried about awkward silence, or running out of conversational topics at a date or a dinner? Try this. Some of the questions are not just questions, but really good dilemmas as well. I couldn't answer all of them to myself, even. It was interesting taking these questions and dilemmas to friends an colleagues (over the summer holiday, those of us left at work didn't have one boring chit-chat lunch thanks to this book). Not only does the answers different people give surprise you, but to gauge their initial reaction to a question or an dilemma is sometimes quite revealing about that person too...The book is in a very handy pocket size, and so it was my communte reading. I wasn't bored on my way to work either.

A good conversation piece: you can just open at random pages and you have an automatic deep conversation in front of you. Maybe avoid using with family members, unless you're especially curious about your grandparents sexual habits. If you don't have any friends, it's perfectly designed for sitting at your desk, talking out loud to yourself and having existential crises. Pages are good for absorbing tears.

I guess you could see this book as an excellent icebreaker at a dinner party or a conversation starter at the pub, but it's more than that. It is an opportunity for self evaluation and for questioning some of your personal beliefs and long held moral values.I found that a lot of the questions didn't catch my attention but some led to reflect on my attitudes to life, death, family and society as a whole.Yes, it's all rather hit or miss but, when it does hit, it hits very hard and leaves quite an impression. And sometimes a bruise.

I travel everywhere with this book. It's a fantastic for bonding with people.

This book is so great for many occasions. It can start debate between families, help you get to know someone and possibly find out things about people you didn't even know. I absolutely love getting it out with family and asking round questions. It never gets old.

This book is great for raising discussions and thoughts. I would recommend it to everyone.

It's ok ...

I gave this as a Christmas present. We had great fun with it.

We drive on trips a bunch --- and while we easily talk for hours --- these cards are excellent entertainment and excellent thought provoking conversation starters.We went through several questions on out last trip --- and I (because Ibwas driving) had to say "uncle" because of the depth of the responses they evoked.The box even states -- don't (just) answer the question--- give it some thought and discuss your responses.LOL, make it challenging *not* just saying "yeah, I agree with you on that".Stretch it out a bit and make them subjects for (playful, friendly) debate.We love them and look forward to our next trip.

If you could get past the awkwardness of pulling out a literal book of questions on a first date, I think this could revolutionize the dating world. It quickly lets you get to know where someone stands on matters politically, socially, emotionally, etc... but in a way that's fun and is sure to spark conversation far beyond the questions as well. Would be great as a ice breaker for other types of meetings as well, and between couples, friends, or family members. Read alone is good to help you get to know yourself better too. Also love the Kids version.
