24 Christmas Stories for Little Ones

introduction to Jesus
The concept of a short story for little ones to journey to Jesus' birth is wonderful. Each story presents a special prayer to Jesus that represents the concept within the story. Some stories are not so engaging but I add some embellishment to them. As the stories progress closer to Christmas (one each for 24 days to Christmas), they become more entertaining, with good moral emphasis, too. I reread the better stories and do more each night, then close with a special prayer just for my darly grandbaby and family, then off to sleep. I find this book as an excellent closer to story time at night!I

Advent book
This is a wonderful book for little Children. The stories are the right length and teach the spiritual meaning of Christmas. One of my first memories is sitting on my mother's lap every night in December while she read a Christmas story that was printed in our small hometown newspaper. When I saw this book at the National Basilica in DC I had to buy it for my granddaughters. They love it. They open an advent calendar in the morning and their parents the book to them before bed. I loved it so much that I bought another one here on Amazon for my pregnant daughter! It will be a nice holiday tradition.

Disappointed
I really thought this would be an Advent tradition for my family. Unfortunately, the stories are not very good. My biggest disappointment is that almost every story that includes a family situation leaves out fathers. There is even one whose prayer just says, "Sometimes I don't listen to my monmy." This makes it upsetting for my husband, who really wanted to make this book his thing each evening. Just one-sided to a very obvious point. Will have to keep searching.

I love all the little stories and my kids do too. It's great to read one every day until Christmas.

Wonderful gift
This is a beautiful book with two page stories and a small prayer each day always putting Christ back in Christmas. Most of the stories explain the true meaning behind traditions and saints. Some stories also talk about beautiful Christmas traditions and stories from other countries. It's a perfect gift for a godchild and in our family has been our reading before nightly prayers with our children (ages 6,4,2).The person who gave the book a bad review was referring to December 3rd The Annunciation. The prayer is: "Mary, sometimes I say no when mommy asks me to do something. Help me to say yes, like you." ...it is the annunciation and we generally connect more with Mary our mother on that day.
