I am just an average mom who makes their kids' cakes for birthdays. My mother was a professional cake maker - for years she made gorgeous wedding cake creations from her home kitchen. I was even lucky enough to have her make mine! So I have watched for years, but never felt as steady or prepared as she was. This kit reminded me of all of her creations - frosting roses included. She had a little glass jar with maybe a dozen tips, and they all did their own special thing. I can only imagine what she could do with all the tip choices in this set! There are so many items in there (no point to name them all as they are pictured in the listing), many many that i have no idea how to use. But what fun I am going to have exploring and experimenting! I have gotten myself a turntable, and now this neat set of just about everything really gets me excited to go bake - I am ready to see what I can create! The tips are all metal, something I definitely wanted. There are two "platforms" - think nails with big heads on them (I am sure there is a more professional name for them) - these are metal, too, although probably not of the same quality as moms - as you turn it in your fingers you can see the platform is not level, but for my novice use, they will be a good start. There are a lot of plastic pieces, some I am not even sure what they might do. Time to watch some videos. I am just so impressed that there are so many items in this kit - and the kicker is they all come in this super nice locking plastic case. Organized, all in one place, with options galore, this may not be the set for you if your consider yourself a professional, but for a beginner trying to learn techniques, I think this is the perfect affordable set to start with and stick with. I will definitely take this set out when I bake with my grandchildren, too. They will probably imagine things I had not even thought of. Don't hesitate - you won't be disappointed in this set.

This has so many wonderful pieces. Great beginners set. I made my son a cake for the first time ever. Like I said, I am not a pro but this set was really easy to use.

Decent kit, got it to supplement my wife's already fairly impressive collection of baking and decorating paraphernalia, and it did have a few items she hadn't yet acquired, as well as some consumable bits she was glad to have. The case is not the highest quality, but it also doesn't feel like it will fall apart any time soon, so I would say it is 'average'. All in all, a decent kit for the money.

This is a great set for all bakers, works wonderful for decorating all sorts of desserts or baked goods! All of the pieces are very great quality, are wonderfully made and fit great in the storage box! There are baking tools as well as decorating tools, all sorts of different tips for different designs and skills, several piping bags and so much more! This would be a great gift, it is easy to use and work with regardless of if you are just beginning or have been decorating for a while! It stores up nicely for in home decorating! Great value overall!

What a great kit! This comes with so many different tools for decorating cakes, with piping bags and different tips for piping. As a beginner to the decorating game, I would have like more clarity on what each item was, as there were a few that were new to me. But there is a sheet that explains what each tip looks like when used for piping. All in all, a wonderful addition to my baking game.

Honestly this kit is so big I may never use all the pieces!! The piping on this cake was done with the reusable bag and a piping piece! My first time really so it’s easy to use! I also use the plain hole for my homemade oatmeal crème pies! I bake for fun and not too often but this kit is great for beginners and i’d say even at home bakers with businesses! The box is great and fits everything nicely. I love all the reusable pieces because I don’t like to be wasteful. The piping bag that’s reusable is harder to wash but manageable.Overall there are definitely things i’ll never used but it’s nice to have on hand and have the variety.

As everyone mentions, there is a LOT of equipment in this set. For a real beginner this would possibly be a bit too overwhelming. There’s a lot to learn before you will be using most of the piping tips and tools. That’s why I feel that’s its best suited for the “advanced” beginner.The quality of the tips and bags is as good as most I’ve seen, you could find heavier and more costly, but why?Some of the plastic tools are a bit flimsy and you will likely replace them later if you become really involved in cake decorating.The box is nice, but I don’t find it to be very sturdy. It’s a very lightweight plastic and will need to be handled carefully.In my opinion, there is a lot included in this set that really doesn’t “belong” in the set; they crowd the box and create a disorganized mess. But, they increase the item count and make you feel like you’re getting a lot for your money. For me, the paper & silicone cupcake liners, the spatulas, and the chocolate bomb mold really don’t need to be in here. Take them out of the box and find another place to store them.I do think this would make a nice gift for the young baker/decorator.
