Twice have had lightning strike close by and take out some appliances because they were not on surge protectors. In fact the one strike hit a tree and fried the computer in two cars near the tree. Learned my lesson after second strike! Purchased Tripp Lite surge protectors since they make a great product.

Do you enjoy all the conveniences of our electronics but really hate the mess of charging cords everywhere? I'm prone to using my I-devices until nearly drained of "juice" in the evening, then have a dilemma... My phone charging cord won't reach to my bedside table, so do I risk setting my alarm on the phone and running late tomorrow because the battery was drained and the alarm never went off, or plug the phone into the outlet in the bathroom and risk not hearing the alarm? This power strip is my answer. Because it is black, it remains plugged into the wall outlet behind my bed, but with the power switch turned off, the black color makes it nearly invisible under the bed so I'm not seeing a power cord every day. The red lighted power switch, when turned off, blends into the black color of the strip until it is switched on and then is a bright orange red. The cord appears to be well made, works well. I bought this because of the extra long 15-foot AC input cord. Daisy chaining power strips or adding a power strip with an extension cord is a fire hazard. I needed a power strip that could handle the distance. This power strip is exactly what I needed and works well.
