This black licorice is chewy and soft. It was advertised and hard which is what I wanted to order. False advertising as usual on Amazon!

This is Belgian style hard sweet licorice. The item was fresh and the taste and texture was what I remember from Belgian licorice. The local specialty store that I used to get these from closed and I was glad to find them on Amazon. They are a little expensive but if you like Belgian licorice they are very good.

Whst can I say? I'm dutch! Can't live without my licorice. Don't overdo it because it will raise bloodpressure.

Great flavor. Very firm in texture. In my hunt for the best licorice these are a front runner. I don’t like the gummy soft style so these hit the mark.

I was on the search for some black licorice since my normal local store didn't have anything in stock and these Venco Coins came up. I thought I would give them a try. Overall they were not as satisfying as I had hoped. I usually like a black licorice that either has a nice chewy bite or the super soft/flavorful Australian style. These did not hit my texture expectations. They are somewhere closer to a rubbery/hard texture. Not bad, just not my normal preference. On the taste front they start with a bit more of a bitter taste, but after I sucked on them for a bit the black licorice flavor kind of exploded out. I did find that I wound up sucking on these more than chewing them. After a while of sucking on them the texture did soften up so they were easier to bite into and the flavor was good. Texture is a huge thing for me. And, that is where these missed the mark for me personally. Overall they were not a bad candy just not my preference.
