I really like this dog leash, at 5 feet it is the perfect length for my 11.6lb Chiweenie puppy. It appears to be well made, and so far seems very durable. The Mighty Paw brand seems to make some great stuff, as I have the collar that matches this leash as well. I wouldn't necessarily say the leather is distressed, but It doesn't look new either. For me leather that's distressed would appear faded and worn, which this it not. Either way it is still nice, I like the silver hardware that it has. Overall I think it's the perfect leash for my dog, he and I both really like it. I would recommend this leash if you looking for something simple, yet durable and sturdy that's actually made out of real leather.

First I bought a black one for our Scottish Terrier pup for use at home. Liked it so much I bought another for the car and office. Got drunk and left the car one at my mother in law’s house (I wasn’t driving). Just bought a third to replace the misplaced one. They feel very nice in hand and even more so after hitting them with a little leather conditioner. After about nine months of daily use the first one is actually better than new because it’s broken in and even better to use now. Have seen complaints of funky smells but did not experience any untoward aromas. If I had to come up with a complaint, the leash did have a bit of a bend in it out of the package that took a little longer to work out than I thought it would, but it in no way affected the comfort or performance. Buy? Yes!

I've been looking for something to match my 9lb Savannah cat's black leather harness. There are very few leather products for cats but this is perfect. It's thin and very playable but really nice quality leather. The "light" size is ideal- feels strong and substantial without being too bulky and disproportionate. I wouldn't use it as a primary walking leash (the retractable ones allow for more distance) but it's great for style factor or for specific situations where a short leash is preferred (going to the vet, air travel, introduction to other animals). Only thing negative I noticed is that the unfinished edges are giving off a black dust/crumbs. I think that's typical because it's real leather and might improve with use. Just don't do what I did, which is open it on your white sofa. TL;DR- very chic, good quality, appropriately sized for xs/toy dogs and cats.

This review is for the 1/2" leash used for a 22lb corgi. It's slim and attractive but feels sturdy. Hardware seems of good quality. 5ft is actually the perfect length for our usual neighborhood walks, compared to my standard 4 and 6 ft leashes. The only thing missing is a ring to hang a bag holder off of. The leather itself is a bit rigid out of the box, but I'm sure will soften nicely with use. It's easy to grip and handles/feels better than my nylon and cotton leashes.

This works well for training your dog, good size, good quality, you will have control over your dog but I do reccemond a prong collar for those who pull.

The collar was purchased for my senior toy poodle. It is very soft and fits nicely. She seems very happy with it as am I. Since she is so small, the collar is a little long and I contacted Mighty Paw directly about options, maybe an extra ring to hold the extra length close, but they were sadly unable to help although they responded very promptly to the issue. Since we both really like the collar, we have decided to keep it and are quite satisfied with both it and the leash. Mighty Paw is a great company and will go out of their way to help with any issues you may have. They really want their customers to be happy with their products. I highly recommend both these items and the company.

I purchased this leash because our dog trainer recommended a leather leash that is half an inch wide, and they're not a lot of options. I am not thrilled with this leash. The hardware feels cheap and it is often difficult to open the clasp. This is particularly problematic when you have a wiggly puppy to deal with. Otherwise, the leash is fine.

Love this leash. I use it with my 20 lb corgi and it’s the right weight and size. The clasp is the right size too. Sometimes the clasp comes in and it’s way too big. Soft leather feel.
