My daughter and I have had a lot of fun learning to do spins and control rotational speed on this little device.It has a nice smooth surface and at first glance seems like it would be ok to use inside on hard floor surfaces, but if any little dirt or debris happens to be underneath it it can quickly start causing scratches and damage. Because of that i have had to make this an outdoor only toy.It works great on concrete, wood, rubber and other solid outdoor surfaces. It was possible to use on carpet but did not maintain much spin.Overall this a very fun and economical toy / training aid
