For Romantasy Lovers
I am not a huge admirer of Enemies to Lovers trope because of past disappointments but when I read this book, I was totally hooked to the story.Kayden Parsons is a new favourite now. Although he has many flaws, he also has everything that makes him a perfect fictional boyfriend. The story is set in a fictional village of Murkwood where Eloise Hector is a princess but she doesn't like to be called one. She has a weird glitch that makes her "shift" to a different world without her own control. That other world is the "Shadowland" where demons and monsters thrive.Unfortunately, one day, she shifts her friends to the shadowland along with herself but she fails to shift them back to the normal world. Desperate and determined to bring her friends back, she has to take help from Kayden who is her nemesis. From there, the story gets even more interesting and spicy.I absolutely love jealous "fictional" men and Kayden just made me swoon over him repeatedly throughout the book. I loved how he was so protective and possessive about Eloise and how he loved to take care of her despite everything that happened. Their chemistry and banter is worth reading and I couldn't hold myself from flipping page after page to know what happens next.I loved the beautiful portrayal of the friendship between Eloise and Clara. And I also loved the deliberate chaos created between Eloise, Kayden and Homer. Sometimes tough answers need tough situations and you have to choose one thing that's best for you. Eloise finds herself in a dilemma where she has to choose between the man she loves and the man who loves her. This is easily a 5 star read for me because it was really smooth to get a grip of the story even when it was a fantasy book. All the characters were developed perfectly and the plot building is amazing without any complications. The writing style is such that it creates a sense of connection within readers and those who are fans of this particular Enemies to Lovers trope, they must read this book. The narrative is so gripping and fresh. I highly recommend this to Romantasy lovers.

A fast paced and engaging read
In “The Wandering Star,” shadows hide magic and threaten lives. Full of inventive world-building, Mittson’s first novel takes us into the creepy Shadowland in all its grimy, gory glory. Eloise is a princess struggling to keep her powers from fluctuating too much — something everyone can identify with feeling sometimes. This book has more characters than you can shake a stick at in the opening chapters, but it gets down to the business of growing friendships (and frenemy-ships) soon enough. The tension between Eloise and Kayden is hilarious and also sexy; plus, Mittson does a great job creating an engaging cast. Some scenes could slow down enough for readers to feel like they’re swimming around in Eloise’s heart instead of getting smacked against rocks over and over again by nonstop action. But even so, “The Wandering Star” is just a really fun read. The mythology is unique but easy to follow, there are twists aplenty and — oh yeah — some romance happens too. Anyone who wants magic systems galore in their next adventure won’t be able to put this one down
