Loved it

An excellent book containing a good selection of well reproduced old postcard and photograph views with good explanatory captions. Only mistake is that the colour picture of Corpach Basin on the back cover is reversed (use a mirror to get the correct view). Two pictures in particular make me wish for more information - p31 - Early Inverlochy - what is the group of buildings where the school now is ? & p41 Lochy bridge (the 2nd one) -lovely clear print - one of the old end arches was struck by a digger on a low loader resulting in both arches being removed..

This 48 page volume offers a wide range of photographs of Fort William and the area immediately around it from the late 1800's to around 1960 (though most are pre-World War II). Personally, I would have loved more pictures of the town in the Edwardian era, though, of course, I do not know if any more such photos are available.A lovely book for anyone who has a connection to the town.
