I’ve owned multiple wetsuit hangers with the button and the locking mechanisms, but all of them eventually failed because of my wetsuit's weight. I did like the design with the broad shoulders, but I couldn’t find an alternative that was stronger. I saw this new hanger and figured I should give it a try, and I’ve got to say, I’m very impressed. It folds upward instead of downward, and the weight is carried by the two shell pieces. I’ve put some serious weight on it, and it didn’t buckle under the pressure. So far so good!

I’m comparing this to the several Baker Shoulder Saver hangers I own. The Hang 11 hanger is narrower with a shorter hook, but with a wonderful folding feature. It also has holes in the shoulders to speed up drying.I’ll start with the size. Even though it’s smaller, I didn’t see an issue with it protecting the shoulders of my wet suits from over stretch. The hook was a bit short though and not really long enough for my suits with the hoods built in. I prefer the longer hook on the Baker hangers for that. The hook is also deeply curved, meaning it’s pretty secure on a bar in the wind, but it is not as easy to get on and off the bar.The holes in the shoulder are to help the suit dry better. I never had a problem with the Baker hangers drying my suits. But this does make the hanger lighter for travel.Speaking of travel, the best feature is the folding. I could never take a Baker hanger on a warm water trip since it would fill the entire suit case. But the Hang 11 hangers fold nicely and take up a lot less room. There are other travel hangers out there but most have the narrow (front to back) blades that can deform a wetsuit. I looked at other folding hangers similar to Hang 11, but they used a button to lock and unlock the blades in place. The Hang 11 uses gravity, a much better solution. No buttons.I will likely end up taking my new hanger on my next warm water dive trip. It will be nice to hang my suit properly, and maybe even have it dry for my flight home.

This vented hanger is great for my wetsuit. Since I live in a small apartment, I don't have a garage or balcony to dry my wetsuit, it has to air out in the shower. The wide shoulder supports with the cut out vents really increase the air circulation. LIked the folding capability to make this a more compact item, because the shoulder supports are pretty wide, as wide as my hand. The approximate measurement of one shoulder support is 9" by 5".The hanger supports my wetsuit well, the wetsuit didn't end up on the tub floor and the supports didn't sag. However, the hanger hook opening is only about 1.5 " and this was not big enough to hang this on the shower head arm in my shower. I could only get it around the base of the shower head, which didn't seem too sturdy (worried it might pull the shower head off, since it's not in the greatest of shape). Wish the hook was more flexible or the opening was bigger than 2" so that I can improvise and hang this on the shower door or wherever it is more convenient. Also, when the hanger shoulder supports are folded up, it doesn't make a very streamlined object for packing / travelling.Tested this on an athletic top that I needed to handwash, and was impressed at how much more air circulation is possible. I will be using this for my hand laundry as well as my wetsuits, and maybe even my ski jacket. I may need to get more of these!Note: Since I could not easily hang this hanger in my shower, I bought a couple grab bars and installed in my shower.

This is a wonderful wetsuit hanger! I like everything about it, but especially the extra-wide shoulders with cut-outs to help speed drying. The shape also helps prevent wetsuit deformation and damage. All-plastic construction makes it impervious to rust.The swivel hook is plastic. I was concerned about its robustness and how well it would stand up to the weight of a saturated wetsuit so tested it with one of our heavy leather flight jackets. Much to my amazement the hook held up to the weight, and the hanger did not break. This was very reassuring – and I liked how well the shoulders of the flight jacket were supported. If we didn’t already have special broad-shouldered hangers for the jackets I would seriously consider ordering more of these wetsuit hangers specifically for them. This hanger also supports my husband’s heavy drysuit.The hook’s ability to swivel is a terrfic feature. Additionally, its deep and wide configuration allows hanging on a wide range of poles.Although this hanger neatly and easily collapses for travel it is unlikely we will take it on tropical diving trips: it simply takes up too much suitcase room. However, this wonderful hanger will be going with us on local dive trips. We will also utilize it after every excursion – local or tropical – when we re-rinse our wetsuits at home because dunk tank water cleanliness can be...questionable.This is a wonderful hanger for land, sea, and sky apparel, and helps to protect the substantial investment in valuable specialty garments. Not only does it ease drying, this hanger helps prevent damage caused by improper storage such as folding wetsuits or utilizing narrow hangers. It would make a thoughtful gift for a diving buddy.I highly recommend this terrific folding hanger for specialty garment care and will be ordering more.
