Great educational activity to engage kids in learning the world map! Bought it for my rising 3rd grader as a summer break activity. Pros: Soft, foamy texture is always satisfying to put together as a puzzle. Stickers for the flag and capitals are engaging. Good distribution of large and small pieces. Great learning experience for both children and adults! Cons: There is a bit of smell initially. Some countries were abbreviated thus difficult to find but I guess that can be a fun challenge as well.

As a home school family, love this kit. Bright colors, soft texture the map feels like the same stuff as the pads on gym floors). Loads of sticker-flags to put on the white plastic flags and then put them on the countries. With world politics, not sure how often they have to update this, but as far as I can tell, it's got every country covered. Good-sized map, covers about half our 6-person kitchen table. Fun and educational, really glad to have purchased.

I am going into 7th grade and my birthday is during the summer. One of my presents was this world map puzzle. It is really fun because it isn't only a puzzle with map pieces but also with flags. I really have enjoyed taking it apart and putting it back again. There is also a guide so if you don't know where a state goes or flag than you can look at the guide. I am so glad that I got this for my birthday!

"Begin learning" is the key phrase here. I love the Europe map, as it has most of the countries and flags to go with them. The other continents end up smooshing several countries together so that the child doesn't have the opportunity to learn these as easily. The map lacks pieces for most of Central America, some South American countries, quite a bit of Africa and Asia. The countries are listed to the side, but don't have pieces or flags. If I had realized, I probably would have searched for something more like the Europe map piece from this set--that lists nearly all the countries and flags. I do like that it is a foam puzzle, addressing the flags and capitals, and that it's a good price. My daughter is 8 and very interested in geography. She needed a little more than this offers, country-wise, but she had not moved into flags and capitals much at all, so this is still good for her.

I bought this for my 7yr old grandson and he will sir there for hrs and play with this He is learning and having fun at the same time

Absolutely loved this world map puzzle! My daughter had so much fun learning countries, flags, and capitals while playing. The foam pieces are sturdy, colorful, and easy for kids to handle.

This puzzle is a huge hit in our home. The concept is awesome: the foam with the flags is brilliant (no smell in our box, like other reviewers mentioned and the stickers were perfect, no trouble at all placing them on flags) but we have some issues with the details on the maps. My son is studying the countries of the world, and he has noticed that several countries are missing from the puzzle, several countries are missing flags, and he's wondered why only Europe has a separate detail puzzle, but Central America and Africa don't. Very Euro-centric. The absence of Israel makes me wonder. Central America: They are missing 21 countries from Central America, the Caribbean, and from the northern edge of South America. These are represented by a star pattern, or not at all for some of the islands. Trinidad and Tobago is absolutely it's own country, to name one. It isn't even on the map. Africa: The same can be said for Africa. Missing countries, no flags. The Middle East is also missing random countries. Israel, Jordan, Lebanon, Georgia, Armenia, to name few. They could have been drawn in, instead Iraq and Syria take up the space of Israel, Lebanon, and Jordan. They don't need extra pieces, just draw them on the map! They don't have flags for so many countries: Uruguay, Paraguay, Bolivia, Guyana, Suriname, Uganda, Ethiopia, Conga, Lithuania, Latvia, Serbia, Bulgaria, Yemen, Oman, and so many more (over half of the Africa's countries). Like I said above, this puzzle is a huge hit. I'd recommend anyone buy it... unless you're specifically studying Central America, western Africa, or the Middle East (or theSouth Pacific Islands, for that matter)
