Works as advertised, easy to setup in Home Assistant.
So far, so good. I use Home Assistant and was looking for a thermometer with a probe to monitor my aquarium temperature. So I could then write a script that would warn me when the temp either got to hot or cold. Aquarium heaters are not what they use to be. Did some digging and came across this sensor. I didn't need the display, but it is a nice addition. So, I pulled the tab from the battery and Home Assistant found it right off, clicked setup, and done. At this point in time, it is accurate enough for my tank, and reports the same temp in Home Assistant. Don't let the add title fool you, you can use this Temp Sensor for many things.

The best way to test your fridge.
These are pretty awesome. If I could keep them I would. You don't need any "Hub" or even the internet to keep these working. I did learn that you need to stick these inside a glass of water to help mellow out the fridge cycles. You want to capture the food temperature and not just the air temperature.

Hub needed for wifi
Too many negative reviews for such a good thermometer. With this you will need the hub. I bought the set that came with the hub and 2 thermometers. You can connect up to 30 sensors on one hub. I am now using 4 of them. Install the app. If u get a message about an update then download it. Follow the directions and connect to your home wifi , 2.4 ghz only is supported. Once that is done move on to connecting the sensor. Open the app and click the plus sign in top right corner. Use search bar for this sensor. It will show a tiny picture of it on the app if you selected the right one. You will get a message to keep phone close to sensor while connecting. Once it is found u will need to depress the side button on the sensor one quick time for it to finish its connection and make sure your bluetooth is on your phone. In settings on the app you will see Remote View, click it. Next screen will show device and the word Bound. Click on Bound this will allow it to connect to your wifi through the hub. Setup is really simple. If I can get these to work in less than 5 minutes u can to. You can rename the sensor and adjust min and max Temps for alerts. Along with how long it has to be at or above the alert level u set before it sends u an alert. I am using these to monitor 3 deep freezers and in one refrigerator with no issues at all. All refrigerators and freezers have different seals and with all of mine I was able to pull the seal loose from the door and ran the cord under the seal and into the unit for a cleaner look. I am not a fan of a cord showing but it beats having batteries exposed to constant sub zero Temps and failing frequently. I have played around with the alert settings and they have not once failed for an alert to my phone. My hub is mounted up high in my garage. It fit perfectly in the outlet for the garage door opener in the ceiling. If u mount it behind the fridge or freezer it will more than likely get a weak signal. I am pleased with these and I do recommend them. The hub does not have a built in battery backup and needs to stay plugged in to constant power.

Not what I expected
Poor instructions.I understood unit would send alarm if freezer temperature exceeded my preset temp.

Accurate, easy mounting
Easy set up. Accurate as compared to a digital thermometer meter. Magnetic case allows placement anywhere.

Govee just keeps impressing me...
Anyone who has dealt with Samsung or LG refrigerators knows how temperamental they can be. LG has been subject to at least 2 class action law suits in the last 12 years because their compressors allegedly are junk. And many of the compressors in Samsung units come from... LG!So when my LGs and Samsungs were on the fritz and I thought it was my imagination that the temperatures in my fridge and freezer units were warmer than they should be... I bought a bunch of these and they helped confirm what I suspected. Faulty fridge/ freezer units. What's really amazing about these Govee units is the sensitivity and frequency of the temperature sampling. So if you open the fridge or freezer, you'll the see the temperature on the unit rise as warm outside air mixes with the internal cold air... And then after you close the door, the temperature begins to go back to cold... That is if your fridge/ freezer is working right.Another great feature is how the temperature screens bind to a gateway to give you a reliable internet connection. The gateway is a little box you plug into a power outlet within a few yards of the thermometer location. Plugging the gateway into an outlet instead of having the wifi transmitter built into the thermometer helps significantly enhance the battery life. This is probably my 7th or 8th Govee IoT (Internet of Things... you know, like... Smart devices. All the stuff Alexa/ Siri/ Hey Google/ Bixby can control). And they just continue to impress me. The stuff just works and is easy to setup.Every now and then you come across and awkward phrasing or instruction in the Govee app because their Chinese to English translators could use some smoothing out and finesse. But I now have 5 of these things in my house! They are rock solid and worth every penny.

Did not send alert when freezer lost power and temp dropped
Purchased so I would be able to set parameters for temperature for freezer, circuit tripped and no notification was sent to my phone, lost everything
