Solved my pond plant issue!
So, I’ve just had a double level, walled pond/fountain renovated (my dad designed/built it in the mid 80’s but sadly it’s been uncared for for a good few years since he became ill and passed away). One of the ponds is pretty deep so near-on impossible to sink the usual plants to the bottom as they won’t grow. My dad did install hooks on the inside to hang baskets on but sadly my renovation guys removed them, not realising.I was looking for a solution and stumbled across these. I bought a couple and they’re great! Planted up the right way - using hessian sacks in the pots, then proper aquatic soil, then proper pond gravel, then planted with some marginal pond plants, they work well! I was worried about having to anchor them as the tall pond has a ‘waterfall’ feature that goes into the lower pond but it’s been fine so far, the two don’t ‘collect’ near it or go near the fountain feature (it’s not a powerful one). At least the fish will have some sort of shade/hiding place now.The previous reviews that said they sunk must not have been using proper aquatic soil and gravel as I’ve not had an issue.Thumbs up all round!

Is just the ticket
Sturdy and effective. Stays floated even when filled with soil and gravel. Is a great alternative for those without lower pond shelves. To stop it floating under waterfalls or fountain-type displays which can kill the plant, it's advisable to insert a suitable length of plastic garden twine around the upper rim of the inbuilt plant pot, tie a knot in it and then attach the string somewhere around the perimeter of the pond so that the basket is kept away from any constant flowing water.

These look like a really good planting solution for margin plants.
I got this to see what it was like as a planter for my pond. It seems fine and I shall be ordering two more to replant all the plants that were in the shallow end of my pond as I think these will be a much better environment for the plants. I will shoot some photos and video once I have them and add them to this review. The reasons I wanted to do away with the planting basket I was using are mainly because the basket kept slipping towards the deeper end of the pond and also that is formed a bit of a barrier that might have prevented small mammals escaping should they fall in.I have bought a second one of these to make into a floating filter. I will try to make a video of it when its done and of course of the one used as a planter.

These are absolutely amazing. I've now ordered 4 in total. My pond does not have shelves so I thought plants were impossible. They give a lovely look. Like a floating tropical paradise. Highly recommend. Local tranquil shop are selling something similar for three times the price!. Great delivery too

These little floaters are great. You can plant a medium size plant (excuse the repeat) and it works just great. Suggest you attach it to a weight otherwise it does tend to drift to the edges but otherwise no complaints.

Floating pond pot
Ideal for those marginal plants that attract slugs and snails like a magnet, such as Lobelia Cardinalis. I bought one of these plants before, planted at the edge of my pond and next morning came out to find a stump where my bloody slugs & snails had ate the lot overnight. With this floating pond pot, the slugs & snails get to look and drool, but not touch and eat. Hopefully I'll get a healthy growing plant and lots of brilliant flowers next year. Just make sure you use some 6mm - 10mm pea gravel in the bottom of the pot to keep the compost in and on top of the compost to keep the compost in and help stop any weeds growing.

Overall good but only for small aquatic plants
Order arrived before estimated time. They were smaller than I imagined but well made and sturdy. I could not use them for taller aquatic plants as they toppled over, but fine for smaller or prostate varieties. I decided to cable tie them together and secure to pond edge rather than let them float about as they tended to move toward the pump. I think the flotation ring could do with being a bit wider to support the weight of aquatic soil and grit covering especially for larger plants.

Excellent floating planter
Wasn’t sure how good this would be but I am so impressed! As shown in my photo, I use this for my tiny container pond. No soil (or very little) has escaped from bottom, all plants are blooming - even plants that should be ‘submerged’ really! Floats really well even with heavy amount of soil and a ton of different plants inside. So so impressed!
