2.5 Far Too Nice for me Stars
2.5 StarsOK so wanted is the first book in have read by this author and I grabbed it as a freebie on Amazon. When I asked my book nerd friends about this book they raved about how brilliant it was so I was super excited to read itNow I can completely understand why people went mad for it, the story, characters and writing style are all incredibly sweet. I could read this book to my daughter (minus the saucy bits) and say this is a proper love story.I do totally get why people love it….But I just didn’t!!!!I found it far too NICE!!!!I know I’m making it seem like an offensive word but honestly it was so incredibly nice I was just rolling my cynical eyes at my Kindle and trying not to throw up in my mouth. There is absolutely nothing wrong with this book, it just simply wasn’t a complex enough love story to draw me in.The girls were innocent and sheltered, the boys were good old fashioned gentlemen and they all lived happily ever after. There’s nowt wrong with that but I needed more.I wanted them to struggle, I needed some angst and drama and honestly as bad as this sounds I needed something much less predictableThis is a good book if you like this type of story it just wasn’t the book for me.Wanted gets 2.5 stars from me.

I get that she would but her charcter did kind of annoy me in the first half of this book because ...
Oh Gunner, what a romantic! I mean some of the things he did...wow. Ellie has been verbally abused by her mother for years so has a lot of insecurities. I get that she would but her charcter did kind of annoy me in the first half of this book because she kept pushing Gunner away for the smallest of things. The second half of the book was much better when Gunner and Ellie start to move forward. It wasn't all smooth sailing though but towards the end was so magical and breathtaking that I just wanted to go into the book and steal Gunner away from Ellie. I also really loved the secondary characters Jeff and Ari and look forward to reading what is next instore for them.P.S Kelly Elliott has some great taste in music

Made my teeth ache
Normally I love a sweet romantic story but this was like an extended hallmark card, just too sweet to the point of nausea. The story was narrated in first person from multiple points of view but the two hot strapping guys, Jefferson and Gunner spoke and thought more like girls - they came over as simpering and a bit wet to me to be attractive, some of the things they said really made me wince - introducing your new girlfriend to your grandparents for the very first time as "the girl who has stolen my heart"...ew, really, just too much.I think I'd have enjoyed this more if it was narrated by one person only to retain a little mystery. Knowing exactly what everyone's thinking made this story quite a slow read. When the sex finally happened it was hot but it was dragged out for so long, I'd kind of lost interest by the time they finally got down and dirty...There were also too many spelling errors in this for my liking. Not a great read for me, but if you're a lover of cheesy, low angst romances you may well lap this up.

PAINFULLY BAD
Soldiered on until a whole 20% of the way through when I was starting to grit my teeth and rock a little bit...never a good sign! I cannot get over how terrible this book is...I'm actually laughing and it isn't funny...think I've lost it a bit! I need therapy! So horrendously boring, repetitive and painfully immature...I think even a 14 year old would be hard pushed to rate this as anything other than dire, so gawd knows how it's got the ratings that it has. Can't even get a refund because I bought it ages ago and just found it on my kindle...I've been robbed!

Good read
I really enjoyed this book and look forward to reading more from the author.Ellie and Gunner were a cute couple when things were going right for them but Ellie has some issues from a tough up-bringing which makes the relationship a bit more rocky. Gunner is a genuinely good guy who takes the hits and keeps coming back for more and I did begin to feel sorry for him towards the end. They have their best friends/family who support them and provide a good well-rounded story, I'm almost more excited to read and Ari and Jeff cause their bumps in this story have been even more substantial than the leading couples.

Hmmm what to say....
I'm not one to write bad reviews but this book had so much potential, especially when it was five hundred pages. Firstly kid not for 17+ it's written for 15/16 year olds and that's the age the characters act, the main guy is supposed to be 21, who are you fooling. The endearment are cringing, the relationship between her brother is borderline incest, he's not realistic in his portrayal as older bro protecting her one sec then thrusting her into his college life and friends. There's a lot of repetition, the f word is used assays too much, for no apparent reason really, him and his erections, makes him sound 15, the male character's act like girls, all the time. This had so much potential, they don't really touch her abuse, every now and then the writer brings up her mom saying no one wants her, but some how ignoring that, these two fall in love after one day, in real life she wouldn't be so free, I just think its far fetched, a teenager must have written this, 500 pages though. The endings good, brings back the potential the book could have had

Wonderful Read
Wanted by Kelly Elliott was the first book I had read regarding Texas, Cowboys and Country music. I was hooked from the start, Kelly's wonderful expressive writing had me falling in love with Gunner and all things cowboy and country. As Ellie and Gunners love story unravels it will have you laughing, crying and falling in love with both of them. Wanted is a great easy read and gives you a happy vibe, definitely would recommend 5/5

Couldn't get past all the swear words to discover a plot
I am no prood...... but when pharagraph after paragraph contains swear words, I find it uninteresting. I don't choose to be around people who are not articulate enough to converse in the spoken language so why would I want to read a book where an author cannot write creativly? I read 5% and gave up... perhaps there are fewer profanities as the book progresses... but I for one will not be finding out. This was a total waste of money....

2.5 stars at most - VERY immature characters
Wanted….Where do I WANT to start…??The book description sounded interesting enough and the price was right, so I downloaded the book. Taking a chance that this would be one of the few YA romances that I would actually like. While it wasn’t horrible, it was okay at best for me. I found the h, Ellie, to be incredibly immature and quite annoying actually. Often she would fly off the handle and shout most of her dialogue, never caring that she was yet again airing her dirty laundry for everyone to hear. She had no filter on her mouth, thoughts or emotions….which IMO comes with maturity, which she was not. Her friend Ari was the same, if not worse. The H, Gunner, was better but boy oh boy, the dialogue between the guys in the story…..!! “Dude, man, dude…” Seriously?! Are you not smart enough to put better words than that together?? And this is frequently use throughout the book, sometimes multiple times in one conversation. And seriously DUDE…man-up and stop crying so much….it loses it’s effectiveness!Character issues aside, it didn’t take long for me to get annoyed with the authors persistence with lines such as “she wanted to lick his tattoo”, “I see the way he/she looks at you", or how every 5th page I had to read yet again how hot/beautiful they each realized the other was every time they saw each other again….*eyeroll* ok, ok, I get it, lets look beneath the surface now!! And FYI, not everyone finds tattoos attractive, so going on and on about one only lessens the appeal of the H to me.Moving on…I don’t mind swearing, and sometimes it fits the dialogue perfectly, but this story manages to use 4 letter words as nouns, verbs, pronouns AND adjectives. Sometimes all in one sentence. And if I had to wager a guess, I would say the authors favourite descriptive term would be ”_____ the s**t out of _____” in hind sight I wish I would have counted the times that was used. Now, I will admit there were some amusing parts to the book, it wasn’t all bad. But I won’t be continuing the series...unless that book comes up free...then I would think about it.

The gist of the story is good
The gist of the story is good. But you have to look past some of the writing that irked me. I could have done without so much swearing but whatever. The H and h bothered me for several reasons..I don't know any man that calls a girl sweetheart so much and winks every other blink..he should probably get that checked out by a doctor. Like other readers I found the characters immature.."I like him, I don't want to like him, he's gonna hurt me, I should cry to my best friend for a while" over and over and over. she came across really whiny and they were both super emotional and sensitive. Maybe I just prefer a snarky, confident h and a manly-man, domineering H. Still enjoy the series when I look past the nuances.

Gunner could have a better Sweetheart :)
I had to think really carefully prior writing this review.I I loved Gunner just because he is decent, correct, romantic and is such a great friend of Jeff... when I think about Ellie, she is very immature and Gunner character deserved a better structured female character. Ellie demons wasn't very well worked for her.Another interesting thing, although Gunner and Ellie are the main characters, several parts of the book make you think Jeff and Ellie's friend were the main. Jeffs story (that is told in book 2) has lots of it in this book.Another thing to be considered, the book is way too long... it wasn't necessary such a long book to tell a beautiful love history between a gorgeous and mature guy with a girl full of demons plus a bit of Jeff for the spin-off.

Oh, hell bells!

Just okay
I found gunner to be way to emotional. There were many times where I rolled my eyes. I found the book long in parts that I ended up skimming a lot and I hate that. Overall the story was good. I don't think I'll continue the series though. I just don't think I could read another lengthy book where I skim so much of it to find the good parts.

Sugar-coated teenage angst galore
For Europeans this will probably come across as some sort of alternate universe. Enough TV series and Hollywood films have educated us to US high-school life, and we have a good idea of the social mores of Middle America, but this takes it to the next level of y'all Texan clichés. It is not Christian youth literature, but the heavy handed innocence vs slut morality subtext, combined with endless cutie pie references and all out perfect hero boyfriend descriptions, makes one wonder what planet the author inhabits. I enjoy clean feel good romance as much as quit explicit novels, but in this case the book set out to deliver the former whilst being explicit. As an older reader I found it painful, especially as it went on for ever at the expense of an already thin plot, and I would hate for my pre-teen daughter to buy into the double standards and unrealistic sex scenes pushed here. Better super clean or realistic nitty-gritty than some sort of uber idealised romantic drivel and young women so innocent that they at 18 are unaware of their own body's basic functioning whilst liberally using strong words like fuck /doing provocative dry hump dances and, even more paradoxically, taking the moral high ground. All in all I genuinely can not see what reader group this book will appeal to. Adults will find it ludicrous and young teens will be fed a load of baloney, not just in the romance department but also in regards to sex.

Kelly Elliott
autora maravilhosa!

LOVE THIS BOOK! :)
I loved this book that most, as opposed to the rest of the series. I say that only because I did not care so much for the other characters. Well I shouldn't say that, I more than likely lost interest. This plot was not rushed which I love, the characters were very well planned and written, and I would definitely re-read this book again!

Amazing Read
Ellie and Gunner are just perfect for each other. All the characters are great and the story is even better. An emotional read that's for sure. I laughed and cried. Need to keep reading the series to find out what happens.
