Smooth, dense pigment
I am fairly new to working with oils but following the lead of more experienced artists, I purchased Winsor & Newton colors because they are high quality, with good pigment density and relatively fast drying. I am pleased with this paint, it blends well with other colors and in the picture shown of a work in progress, it is blended with all of the color layers on the horse, from black to white. (The full color palette in use here is burnt umber/ultramarine blue to make black, burnt umber/raw sienna for the reds and browns and burnt umber/white/ground white or buff titanium to make white).

W&N has performed well for me for years. Good oil pigment blend. Mixes well with other color and mediums. Don't buy cheep oils from China. Quality oils are always worth the price. They perform better and are more consentrated which means you won't have to use a much for good coverage.

Awesome paint! You can't go wrong with Windsor and Newton! I do love the heavier pigment load in the artist's paint, but I also use Winton! Great stuff!!
