Performance
Has anyone tried this drop system after upgrading the blades to carbon fiber? The left side blades only, seem to be hitting something while flying straight up. Throws balance off and almost wants to crash? Maybe wrong combination of the blades and drop system??? I can’t see where any unwanted contact is being made, just hard to handle on upwards thrusts. Any idea what’s going on?

Well designed
The device fits the drone perfectly. Construction is light but reliable. Device does not cover the thermal vents on the underside of the drone. Light sensor fits nicely to cup the drone light. Actuation works well. Weight is balanced from left to right so drone remains balanced with it equipped.

Kinda cool
I had another dropper that would only work at very close range. 300 feet. This one works completely differently though. This one activates when you turn on the spot light on the drone. Absolutely brilliant idea. The reason I'm not giving it 5 stars is because it only closes when i turn on the light. It doesn't open up to drop the load. So I'm gonna have to do a little engineering on this baby. Easy set up. If i can get it to work like i want it to, it'll be priceless. It's a little big, but not enough to throw off the flight controls. Very quite.

Reduced performance
Significantly reduces performance of the drone, although a good quality for a novice, I have 200+ hours on quadcopters and 22 years of experience on actual rotary wing aircraft external load capabilities so it is more of a hindrance than necessary for me. After more testing it is merely the leg extensions that reduce performance and everything operates fine without them, albeit at higher risk and understanding flight characteristics with external loads is essential.
