Huge Hunting Knife Miyabi 613

What a nice large heavy blade. I have had it for about a week, came fairly sharp, I put a better edge on it. Holding a magazine in my left hand and slicing with my knife in my right, it cut through a whole magazine with one slice with ease. Just like a "paper test" but with a whole magazine.The blade is a beautifully shaped piece of Japanese steel a little over 3/16" thick. Actual length of blade on mine is 11 3/8". The wood handle is slightly small in diameter, but I can certainly live with it without doing anything to it, I have been thinking about a leather wrap, we'll see. If you are considering getting a Japanese tanto sword, this thing is awesome for the price. Holding it in my hand for the first time I could see and feel the quality, once I tried it out a few times on bushes and tree branches in the back yard I was very happy with the performance. It feels like a $100 knife. The padded nylon sheath is more than adequate, velcro strap holds the knife in place. Not quite a machete, not quite a sword. One big bad Japanese knife.

Heavy Blade, comes with a sharp edge and perhaps a half to 3/4 tang; depending on your taste, may need some tip and edge sharpening but that doesn't take anything away from the fact that it's a heck of a bargain at the Amazon price. I've held far worse Chinese made traditional style Tantos at twice the price!

The blade is good. The handle sucks. So does the sheath.But, It is worth it if you (like me) are going to take it apart, attach a totally new/handmade handle, make a leather sheath, etch the blade, and sharpen it.It is a decent chunk of steel. Worth the ~$50, IMO.But don't buy this if you don't plan on modding the sh** out of it.

Big, comes sharp, takes and holds an edge, comes with a good safe scabbard (particularly important for a knife as big as this), very solidly constructed.As far as I can see it's made from some kind of stainless steel, not the advertised "finest carbon steel", but whatever it's made from seems to be good enough. Looks nice, too; you really can't complain for the price.I ramble on further, interminably, about this product here:[...]

This knife is pretty neat, the blade is nice and sharp and it feels good in the hand as far as balance goes. The only reason i gave it 4 instead of 5 stars is the handle needs more traction and its fit leaves somthnig to be desired. However it is very sturdy and i am happy with the knife.

This is a really cool product. Its a little raw needs some sanding and some sharpening but bang for the buck its awesomeI have about 35 fixed blades i really like the simple yet sturdy design.It took about 2 weeks to get from Germany ,but it was worth the wait!!

The knife is perfect size, exactly as I expected. I bought this knife to trim off some branches and take it for camping. It is not very sharp out of the box and it came with a hallow grind, so I have to redo the edge with a convex edge. After I have done everything to the knife it is scary sharp now. I have used it to trimmed off some tree branches, it is very sharp and can hold the edge very well.

Nice knife. Blade is strong and comes somewhat sharp. Handle is not the greatest but I was planning to make my own anyway so no big deal to me. Al and all a very good buy for the price.
