The Leica Rugby 680 Grade Laser Level is a durable self-leveling laser with semi-automatic grade capability in both axes. Construction professionals can dial-in grade up to ±8 percent. This laser level has an accuracy of 1/16 inches at 100 feet and up to 4,000 feet range when used with laser receiver. Self-leveling within ±5 degrees, the Leica Rugby 680 is great for indoor and outdoor construction projects such as concrete, form work, driveways and any project involving horizontal leveling or dual slope. The laser level allows you to dial-in your slope but requires manual adjustment should surveyors need to change the percentage of grade. The Rugby 680 laser level comes with Leica's Smart Scope technology that continuously monitors and alerts you when there are disturbances to the grade laser, whether bumps or temperature changes. With an IP67 dust and water-resistant rating, easy to grip over mold protection handles, one touch operation and clear LED indicators, this fully automatic self-leveling laser is very user-friendly. With the alkaline battery pack, this laser level can last up to 60 hours. Leica Rugby 680 dial-in dual slope grade laser level comes with a 5/8-11 tripod thread, 3-year warranty and a hard shell stackable carrying case. Review: Five Stars - this laser does what I expected Review: Call Leica BEFORE ordering. Make sure the product is what you REALLY need. - The problem with this product may not be a problem for certain applications. It's technical claims made me think it was appropriate for machine control (i.e. agricultural land leveling). It is not. After several months on the phone and through e-mail correspondence with Leica Geosystems, I was allowed to upgrade to the Rugby 420. It cost almost $4000 dollars more. This is way more than I was intending to spend, and that extra expense may be a hard ship I will not recover from... So if you own an older laser beacon made by the defunct Laser Alignment Systems, (in my case the LB400) the Rugby 4xx series is the correct replacement. Trying to use the Rugby 680 will result in unreliable drift and constant stoppage of work every 20 minutes to re-calibrate grade. I would have preferred to return the Rugby 680 for a full refund, but the window of time had expired before I found out it was not suitable for me. Leica ,not desertcart, allowed me to at LEAST acquire a usable product but 3x more $$$$.
