Valuable addition to the fisheries literature
This is the new atlas from the Sea Around Us Project. As well as country by country analysis there are a number of introductory essays. The quality of the book is high and the maps and graphs are clear and easy to read. There is a lot of useful information in this atlas although it will go out of date quite quickly - I am not sure if there will be an electronic version which will be kept updated. The Atlas also uses estimation approaches for unreported catches and there has been quite a lot of debate over how reliable these techniques are but it is a valiant attempt to assess the overall impact of global fisheries and break them down to a country by country level.
