iPower 8X12 Inch Reptile Heat Pad Under Tank Heater Terrarium Warmer Heating Mat for Turtles Lizards Frogs and Other Small Animals

This heater works okay to keep my habitat (12 x 15x 8)" about 70 degrees. I still need to use a heater in the room. This is for my hermit crabs. I left them at a friend's house to watch, and I forgot their heating element. It's important because the heat and moisture in the cage raise the humidity they can breathe. It isn't too warm, and I didn't want it to get any warmer, especially since I didn't get a regulator on this one. One way to make a movable is to put it on Velcro strips. The other problem is that it has no temperature control. As we saw, I keep a thermometer with my hermit crabs that shows both temperature and humidity, so I know exactly what they're living in. Amazon sells a thermometer and a humidity thermostat, so it's not that expensive. The size: 8"x12"; 16 watts; length of cord: 6fts. A 6 foot is a pretty decent size cord sometimes I've gotten things with 3 foot cord and then you can't plug it into anything. It's a straightforward heating pad. I think it depends on how much heat you want and whether this will be useful to you. They sell them in watts, and if you look for a higher wattage because you need more heat, that would be a good way to figure out which one would work for your tank. The more wattage would also require a greater price.

This is the best heater I have bought for my snake tank its perfect size. Had it a few weeks and its perfect. If it last as long as the last one i had then perfect for the price.

I bought this to replace an old model of the same heater that got torn up in a move. I was pleased with the quality of the old one and this one looks the same. When l got this new one, the instructions recommended a side mount for best results. I am giving it a try. The adhesive is very sticky so installation was easy. The heater provides goid even heat with no risk of burns. The snake is opting to sleep outside the shelter on these cold mirnings, but as temps drop, he can move closer, having a nice heat gradient so he can find the just right spot to be comfortable.

Since the Mantis does not hang out on the side with the heating pad, I assume it is warm enough. It certainly isn't too warm. One big problem is that it is not moveable. Once it is placed, it's stuck there for good. The other problem is that it has no temp control. So, I cannot turn it up or down at all. It's a very simple heater for a very small tank. It certainly would not warm a 10-20 gallon tank. This is more for a 5-qt tank.

It is very lightweight and durable. It is stable and easy to use. I love the design of it because it cannot start a fire!

I am giving this review three stars solely due to the delivery method. The driver delivered the package as expected, but there was a significant hole at the bottom of the package. To my surprise, when I reviewed my security camera footage, I saw the delivery driver carrying the package without any concern for the hole. He was swinging it around without considering that the items inside could potentially fall out. Thankfully, nothing fell out this time, as there were three items in the envelope. However, this disregard for the customers' packages is something that needs to be addressed. I briefly worked as an Amazon delivery driver during the pandemic, and I would never have delivered a package in such a condition. Regardless, the driver placed the package on the doorstep and took a picture that doesn't reveal the hole if you view it on the app. Now, let's discuss the product itself. As the title suggests, it works like a charm, and for that, I give it five stars. It effectively keeps my tank at a steady 75° on the side where I have it placed. On the other side of my 29-gallon bowfront tank, the temperature is 71° with around 73% humidity. I purchased this product for my Pac-Man frog terrarium, and I was initially skeptical if it would work. Since the terrarium is a custom build using great stuff pond foam, I did not want to place the mat underneath, as it might harm my Pac-Man frog. Therefore, the only option I had was to place it on one of the foam-covered sides. I was uncertain if the heat would penetrate the foam, but fortunately, it does. I am confident that if the foam were not there, the temperature would probably be a bit higher.

I had to replace a very old UTH at long last. I picked a different big name brand, and the glue wouldn't stick at all, making it pretty useless as the cage (aquarium) I needed it on is on the top of a double stand and open underneath. I was attracted to these because they are water resistant, heavy construction (not just a flimsy thin piece of heating element plastic like some name brand reptile UTHs), and used 3M heat strength glue to hold them on. This heat pad really puts out the heat, but no matter what brand I use, I learned the very hard way a long time ago, you have to use a thermostat controller with them!!! AND check the temp every so often because eventually the thermostat controllers die too, and when they die they may just fry your animal, not stop heating. I had purchased some smaller UTHs by iPower before to use as wall heating supplements as some of my cages are very large and hence not the easiest to heat. These are excellent UTHs!!! As good as the very best name brand reptile ones, if not better!!! And cheaper!!! I just finished upgrading my python cages, and almost every UTH I had to replace, and when I need to add new ones to increase the heat on hot end, I've used this brand. Wonderful and if I need more UTHs in the future, I will be getting these. (22 years keeping reptiles)

Una placa de Calidad, sin duda una buena compra y recomendable. Llevo al menos un par de meses usándola y sin fallas. La coloco debajo de la jaula de mi erizo y emite el suficiente calor para mantenerlo a buena temperatura, sin ponerlo en riesgo de que se queme u ocurra algún accidente. Si a mi erizo le agrada, a mí también 🦔.

Al principio pensaba que era muy necesario el termostato para medir y controlar la temperatura, pero al parecer no es problema, y tengo un tiempo y usando pads térmicos y hasta la fecha ningún problema
