The JDW cargo bar is the strongest one I have seen. The fastening system is simple and works great in my Ram 1500. I prefer this to the ratcheting one I had previously.

I had cargo bars before. This one is OBVIOUSLY heavier in weight and strength. The ratchet and clamp devise locks in tight. If there is a negative it's when you clamp the bar it expands a 3/8 inch or so. Sometimes you have to angle the bar a bit to fit the opening. Clamps so firmly this doesn't seem to be a problem though. Quality product! Works great. Best I have ever used.

I picked the JDW Products Cargo Bar up for my larger SUV (Xterra) to help keep my recumbent trike in place when I'm transporting it. While it works for my needs, make sure you measure BEFORE you order as this is a beast!The cargo bar is heavy duty (seriously heavy duty!) and has good weight to it. The bar expands by ratcheting the handle to the proper length and then pushing the handle against the bar to lock it in place. There is a small piece that will hold it there. To release, simply push that small piece and pull the handle up. Nice and simple. The two ends are hinged so you can position the bar at an angle but still get the same retention pressure.The only caveat, as I stated, is to measure your space before purchasing. My SUV is relatively wide and, with the image showing the bar across an SUV, I thought "no problem". Unfortunately, I was wrong (no fault of the company!). I am able to get the bar to lock, but only at an angle. This works fine for my needs so I am not dinging any stars.If you are looking to lock you cargo in place and stop it from sliding around your truck/SUV, this is a great option. It is VERY heavy duty, well designed and, in my opinion, worth the $60 asking price.

I haven't load tested it yet but it does seem heavy duty and will work for my application. I did try the ratcheting and tension in different locations of the f-150 truck bed and it worked great. I am going to order 2 more.

Sturdy built. No complaints from me. Works just as it should.

I do not like the ratchet ability - not easy to install, move or remove as needed.
