Esee knives makes some of best production tools out there. They are made in USA and are extremely affordable. The knives comes razor sharp and with excellent sheaths. The jg3 is a fantastic size for edc, hiking, camping and bushcraft. The spine has a sharp 90degree edge for fire steels. The micarta scales are ergonomically very comfortable and offer a solid grip even when wet. I highly recommend this knife! Good jog Esee

This is a beautifully made small bushcraft knife. Someone at Esee recommended this as an under-4-inch knife that could be used to process firewood, including batoning. It feels well made and was sharp right out of the box. It is full tang, and has a nice, thick 90-degree spine for throwing sparks.Many states’ knife laws prohibit carrying a knife 4 inches or longer, so this 3.5-inch blade was perfect for taking camping. The handle is a tad small, but it’s not a deal-breaker. It’s not impossibly small, and I have hands (with large palms) big enough to fit in large gloves.

Let me start by saying I also have the 3 and 4 and am a huge fan of Esee knives. As far as the JG3, I really want to like it, but there’s a few things that make it hard. Quality-wise it is what you expect from Esee. I really wish there was some jimping on the spine for my thumb. The edges of the spine are extreme, which I understand is probably for striking ferro rods etc, but I had to file the edges down where my thumb goes to make it comfortable. This is a more subjective complaint and I don’t know if it’s the shape or design or my hand size, but this knife just doesn’t feel right in my hand. Finally, I would have preferred a kydex sheath. Instead I had to buy one aftermarket. Overall I am not sorry I got it, it’s still an excellent knife from an excellent company. There’s just a few things I’d like to see different.

I've only just received this knife today, but I'm very impressed with it initially. I will say that it was smaller than I expected (I know blade specs we're given), but it's actually a really great size for what I plan to use it for (camping, fishing, potentially small game). The black oxide coating looks really really great and the 90 degree spine is impressive as well.

The size and shape are really nice and it can do a lot of different tasks. The leather sheath is meh but everything else works great.

I love it. It’s my best EDC so far.

Awesome new addition to my rotation. Can never get enough Esee knives. This blade makes for a great everyday carry if you work in an industry where you need to use a knife frequently.
