This is the worst chemical smelling stuff and the taste is even worse. Why does it leave a cheap vodka aftertaste ?Confirmed by 3 people too...changed my review to 5 star so maybe people will see it..

I have been very happy with Bulk Supplements products over the years and I am still a regular customer.Also, this particular protein powder is radically different from other beef protein isolate powders on the market. I only ordered the Bulk Supplements version because the stuff that has been working so well for me was out of stock at the time (and Bulk Supps stuff had never shown up in my recommendations until I went searching for an alternative). I was also so accustomed to being happy with Bulk Supplements powders etc in the past, that I bought a 1kg bag with no hesitation. Oops.This stuff though, smells bad and tastes worse. It sort of looks like unflavored beef gelatin (coarsely ground and apx the same color) BUT beef gelatin powder IS actually unflavored, AND actually dissolves in water. The flavor of this protein powder reminds me of ground up hamburger that has been over done on on a grill along with a faint charred smell (and once blended the charred smell becomes a very noticeable taste). Oh and as far as protein powders go, this stuff actually messed with my entire digestive system worse than any whey or soy protein powders ever did. The only protein powder I have tried that smelled worse was Brown Rice protein.

This should be obvious, but apparently it's not ...I was skeptical after reading the negative reviews and am glad I ignored them and bought anyway. You're buying this because it's got one ingredient and it's full of high quality protein. You're not buying this because it's yummy delicious Snickers bar flavor. If you care about your protein intake and are not doing the gym as a fad and don't need everything to be sweet and chocolatey, this is for you. Just man up and drink it and get on with your day.

So I been looking for some additions to my carnivore diet and discovered this. I just mixed some in my bottle and drank it less than 5 minutes ago. The most prominent flavor was a sour taste almost like it gone bad or something. There was only a hint of beef flavor. This has basically the protein from beef without the fat. So it should give an energy boost which is what I'm feeling now. My stomach is feeling slightly off. I added a good amount of salt to try and make it taste better and it still tasted strange. Next I will try adding in beef broth/stock and see if that makes it taste any better.Update: I tested this out using Amazon fresh brand beef stock and beef broth. It definitely seems to taste better with the broth. With the stock it tasted better than with water but still not as good as with the broth. Without a doubt it tasted the worse mixing with just plain water.

I’ve been buying this for a couple years and consuming everyday. It’s been subtle in smell and taste when mixed into my morning coffee and I’ve loved the ease of digestion as I have significant gut issues. The last 3 shipments I’ve received came in a slightly smaller bag but then you open it and the air fills with a gross putrid smell that was never there before. The color has also changed and is more yellow and the true test it tastes like it smells! Cannot mask it and is literally not palatable. My stomach was grumbly and bloated after forcing down a 1/2 serving of my usual amount with coffee. Please go back to your original formula. I’m not sure what changed or why but I am no longer a loyal loving it customer and will not be buying this anymore.😥🤢

This tastes really disgusting. Not natural at all. It tastes very bitter and like the way burnt horse hooves smell when a farrier is working on them and hot-shoeing. If you've never smelled that before, think of burning hair but much darker and earthier, plus burning metal. It is not what any food tastes like.I think the batch I got was contaminated. (Or the process that this company uses introduces inedible containments.) I had a full body allergic reaction including a terrible stomach ache, my throat starting to close, and my back and face erupting in hives. I've never had a negative reaction to any brand of beef protein nor gelatin. There is something wrong with this powder. Stay away! Unbelievable.

Great Paleo beef protein, why? Because it doesn't have any preservatives, fillers, Dairy, soy, yeast, corn, or any other additives. No artificial colorings/flavorings. That makes this product not just paleo, but also autoimmune paleo friendly, hard to find. That basically means anti alergic, you dont get the same digestive issues many people get with whey. I think beef protein is underrated, I just finished a batch and went back to my whey. The whey gives me bloating/gas that this product doesnt. Also if you don't like how the amino acid profile stacks up agains Whey protein powder you can add some BCAA to powder, at least thats what I do. In a 30 gram saving you get 28 grams of protein (zero fat and zero carb), not bad!I don't understand why people give this product a low rating based on taste, I want to know what are your results? I also don't rate other supplemets like HMB for its awful taste, or vitamin C for being so acidic, this is pure bovine, it doesn't taste like cookie dough or pumkin pie. Anyways if you mix it with coconut milk and berries it tastes GREAT. Recommendation: keep frozen berries (blue berry, raspberry, blackberry, strawberry) in the freezer and use them as your "ice" to have a nice cool tasty smoothy, totaly auroimune paleo friendly.

I’ve been buying this protein for almost a year now, and I absolutely love it; the macros are fantastic and unbeatable compared to any other protein powder for my goals. Yes it is an acquired taste, but when you have something big you’re working towards, the taste doesn’t and SHOULDN’T matter.However, the new batch I got smells absolutely putrid (more than usual) and is a completely different color and texture than any other bag I’ve previously bought…so much so that I’m actually afraid to ingest it.
