I was attracted by all the positive reviews about the Travelres 4-in-1 travel blanket and decided to take the plunge. I always find travelling uncomfortable and the thin small blankets provided by airlines so inadequate. I am very pleased with the purchase. It's got dual purpose, and can be used either as a travel pillow or blanket. The material is so luxuriously soft to touch. If folded, it's a cushy travel pillow. When unfolded, it's basically a blanket with a hole at the top to put your head through, and a large pocket half way down which becomes the sack the blanket is rolled up into. The pocket is useful for the various odds and ends including spectacles. The hole at the top ensures the blanket never slips off and keeps your shoulders nice and warm. I do find it somewhat bulky when folded, but as it's so soft and squashable it's possible to squash it into the suitcase with a squeeze. Alternatively, it can be hooked onto the outside if space is very limited. The unfolded blanket is not particularly large, so may not completely cover a very tall person, but do not have a problem with this. I am looking forward to my next flight, it will definitely make long haul flights much more comfortable.

The pros: + super light to carry around, almost no weight added to your luggage + very soft and plushy, feels great and super comfy + has a pocket to keep your most valuable stuff in + has a slit for your head, so you can better tuck yourself in The cons: - extremely bulky in all its forms: unfolded, folded as a pillow, rolled in its bag; it makes it super uncomfortable to carry around and takes a lot of space in your carry on

The central heating has broken down in my office, but on the plus side they've finally managed to get the air conditioning working in time for winter. Everyone else is in coats and scarves, but I'm snug as a bug in a... well, in a travel blanket. It keeps the draught off my shoulders, chest and legs whilst leaving my arms free to work without falling off all the time. I'm 6ft, so ordered the large size - it's long enough to cover my ankles and feet, and I'll be happy to take it on the plane with me next time I fly, but for now it's saving my bacon at work. All in all an excellent piece of kit. Light and dead easy to carry, and to roll up again and stuff into the handy carrying bag. Fluffy on the inside, nice and warm to the touch, but not snaggy against rough skin like some artificial fibres I've come across. A great buy, 100% recommended for the sub-arctic office.

I'm not sure if I'm convinced by this. It's open at the back so doesn't give that all encompassing warm feeling when travelling. It was easy to pack into itself though and made a great arm rest on the plane. It was also light and was also useful on a long bus ride to stay warm but really, would a poncho or travel blanket have been just as effective?

I found that the Travelrest 4-in 1 Premier Class Travel Blanket is a great companion, especially on a long flight and coach journey. To start with, it helped me to rest my neck and head when sitting on a stiff coach seat. Moreover, when used in conjunction with another product, i.e. the (inflatable) Travelrest The Ultimate Pillow, the blanket was used as a soft cushion to support my back so that I could sit comfortably without worrying about having a sore back after getting off the coach. However, the 4-in-1 is more than just a cushion or pillow. As soon as I unzipped it, the goose-down textured blanket appeared effortlessly from the pocket. It was a luxury anyone would love to have, particularly whilst travelling on a night bus. At night it kept the cold air out from the top of my shoulders to the bottom of my feet, and its invisible pocket held my valuables when I was falling asleep. I was warm, almost as if I was covered by my own duvet at home! Long travel will never be an issue for me anymore because I know Travelrest will take great care of me on my next journey.

What a fantastic item but not used as intended for travelling ,but bought as a gift for my best friend who has cerebral palsy , to keep him warm in his wheelchair. He has no use of his arms to ‘pull’ traditional blankets up , and if they fall off , he has no speech either to ‘ask ‘ someone to help if a blanket slips . Therefore with the ‘Travel poncho ‘ it fits over his head, (so no chance of slipping off .) It’s so light weight, cosy and warm. A little bit of luxury! It tucks around him in his wheelchair and when not in use it can be packed away into a ‘travel bag.’ He uses it nearly EVERYDAY ! He ( and his Mum) we’re delighted with the gift , so much so , I have just purchased another one for him in the grey. (previously I bought blue) Many of his friends who are also wheelchair users kept asking him where he had got his original one ....they wanted one too! Wait until they see him after I’ve given him this new one ! All in all ... I have purchased 4 of these . All for family or friends with disabilities. (Unfortunately not for the luxury of travelling on planes! ) However, this is how it is advertised. Perhaps the seller could take note and advertise the use for disability too ? Loved this blanket. Soft, warm and comfortable. Perfect for my long-haul flight. I even squeezed eye wear etc. in the carry case. In addition to the hole for your head perhaps later versions could also include openings for one's arms so that tasks requiring use of your hands e.g. eating, reading and manoeuvring would be less awkward.

ADDENDUM: Still using this SAME TRAVEL BLANKET for 10 YEARS! Has held up well, have traveled all over the world with it and still is as soft and plush as the first time I used it. Washes easily. I mainly use it on airplanes, where the temperature almost always within 2 hours becomes much colder and uncomfortable. So, I put this on and I stay toasty WARM. I have the larger, 72 x 38 inch blanket which allows me to wrap the sides around my arms and shoulders to keep them warm. And unlike my original review, I can usually get the bottom of the blanket over the tips of my shoe toes so they stay covered and warm. What a GREAT VALUE to have it work so well and hold up so well for a decade. In my mind, this is definitely a 5 STAR purchase! ORIGINAL REVIEW: I've owned and used this 4-in-1 travel blanket for nearly a year. It's great! It feels like velour, very soft and stays clean. I've taken it with me on domestic & foreign flights as well as car trips. It's lightweight and the horizontal opening to our your head through is big enough for even for large hat sizes like mine. It seems a little silly putting it over your head or taking it off back over your head but it rally does keep it on you without any work or struggling while your napping. That's because it then drapes over your shoulders and stays in place. I am 5' 10; so it goes down to my feet but not enough that I can totally envelop my feet in it. However, as another reviewer says, I find planes almost always drafty and cool so I always wear socks and close toed shoes anyway on plants. It's compact and lightweight so it's easy to take with you I have used it several times in a car while traveling with the same results, even when laying down on the back seat. I've even taken it out when visiting others in their home when traveling as a blanket when watching a movie or resting on their couch. For the first time tonight I watched their 1 minute 11 second YouTube video to see how to fold it into its attached porch. Then I watched it a 2nd time, stopping and starting the video as I did each step. It really is fairly easy to do and I very nervous. I never could figure out how to get it into it on my own before. When folded into its attaches zippered pouch, it hactually condenses the blanket to 1/2 or less than when I have just folded it like I would any towel or blanket of same dimensions. So, again, very well designed and ingenious for travelers. In my opinion it's very well worth the expense if you travel very often, especially when it makes a big difference in o getting restful sleep whike traveling because you're warm and not half waking up repaetedly just to readjust it over you. You also don't have to wait for the plane to get to cruising altitude before the stewardesses might pass out three much thinner and shorter blankets. Finally, I've not had any issues with static electricity when taking it off over my head.

J'ai acheté le grand modèle. Le format replié est très réduit, donc c'est facile à ranger dans un sac à dos. La couverture se replie dans sa propre poche, (façon kway), et est livrée en plus avec une pochette cylindrique supplémentaire. C'est très léger, donc on ne sent aucun poids sur soi quand on la porte, matière genre fourrure très douce, ça isole bien des courants d'air habituels dans les avions.

Ich kann es nur wiederholen: die Decke ist echt kuschelig und warm! Dazu angenehm leicht und praktisch mit der Öffnung für den Kopf, so dass man sie sich überwerfen kann und sie wirklich nicht von den Schultern rutscht. Habe sie in einer kühlen Nacht auch schon mal mit ins Bett genommen, damit die Schultern warm bleiben. Sie reicht nur bei meinen Enkelkindern noch über die Füße, die diese Decke übrigens lieben. Ich selbst bin 1,68m und sie geht mir etwa bis zum Sprunggelenk. Zuhause finde ich das ganz praktisch, so kann ich damit auch mal aufstehen und rumlaufen, und im Auto oder Flugzeug habe ich ja ohnehin meine Schuhe an. Einzig das Zusammenlegen ist kontra-intuitiv, konnte mir das lange nicht merken, wie das geht, trotz Video dazu auf der Travelrest Webseite. Inzwischen habe ich aber den Trick raus, die Tasche vor dem Zusammenlegen schon umzustülpen, damit die Öffnung beim Zusammenlegen nicht immer verschwindet... ;-)). Lässt sich nicht ganz so klein zusammenlegen, es braucht unterwegs also schon eine größere Tasche oder einen Tagesrucksack, um die Decke zu verstauen, in die Handtasche passt sie jedenfalls nicht. Ist aber natürlich immer noch wesentlich kleiner als eine normale Decke. Waschen lässt sie sich auch gut, trocknet schnell, was will man mehr. Alles in allem überzeugend.
