Powerful starter kit, but you pay a bit for the convenience
As I did with another Pi kit recently, I'm describing and rating this based on the kit assembly, as the Raspberry Pi 5 is a known quantity by this point. If all you need is the board, you can get it separately, and build your own "kit."Since the Pi 5 board itself is about $79 (or more) on its own on Amazon, you're paying about $80 "extra" on this bundle for the accessories. That's steeper than some kits I've seen and reviewed, assuming you can get the 8GB board alone for that price (it's about $20 more than what I see the individual components selling for from GeeekPi on Amazon, not including the USB microSD card reader)This particular kit includes a blac ABS plastic case, active metal cooler, 64GB MicroSD card and USB-A compact reader, a black 27W power adapter, and two MicroHDMI to HDMI cables. You also get the standard heatsinks in case you don't want the cooler, but I'd say go with the cooler if you can afford the extra watt. The kit isn't really saving you money if you were able to get the board at the $79 price point, but seeing other listings for $100 make it break even for some buyers. There's also the time savings of having to find and accumulate all of these items. You also get a plastic storage box, which is great for spare parts, or you could probably make some sort of device with the Pi kit and the box. It's a very reasonable collection of components to get you started on the Raspberry Pi 5 journey, and I've been satisfied with GeeekPi/S2Pi over the past few years. I would compare other options, including the nearly-identical starter kit with 128GB SD card for $10 more, or pick out your GeeekPi parts to build your own kit, especially if you plan to use hats with the board (this case seems pretty tight for additional hats).

Great upgrade from previous versions
Got this to replace a pi3B, the performance improvement is great. This whole package was easy to set up and is well worth the money spent.

very nice kit
the R Pi 5 8gb is a very capable SBC machine. a huge step up from the Pi 4B as i had before. i current am running retro pi 32bit. i can play just about anything i want with it. i currently have a 512gb MicroSD and a NVME interface board with a 2TB NVME drive and a 7" touch screen monitor with an xbox controller plugged in. works really well as a retro box. not slow at all.

Good device, voracious toaster
Device itself is good, have plenty of power and works great as a desktop computer. I use them for HA and digital signage. There they heats up a lot, are bit noisy and need better cooling. Also heat sink blocks the wifi signal reception and cause trouble to connect comparing to PI3+. I wish 3+ is still available. Was much better for my applications.

Great for a Pi-Hole setup
Used this to make a Pi-Hole ad-blocker for the home network. Disclaimer, I am technical. This was very easy to setup. I used the Raspberry pi imager and was done in 15 minutes. You may need some basic Linux knowledge to do some detailed settings like the static IP. Had the Raspberry Pi with the Pi-Hole up and working in under 30 minutes. Whole process from build to ad blocking in under an hour. Nice packaging everything there.
