Excellent Replacements At Great Value
Because of the fragile nature of the original Sega and PS1 long CD cases, getting them in the wild is a rarity. As a collector, I put great value on getting a game with a functioning case whenever I can, but usually the best i’ve been able to hope for is a complete box with busted hinges at the best of time, and a tattered mass of plastic at worst. However these new replacement cases have been a saving grace. The proportions are perfect for any style game art from the Sega CD, Saturn, and PlayStation 1. I’ve seen some reviews to the contrary, and I do not see the problem. It is true that the material for these feels a little cheaper, but it’s a small concession for the ready availability. The two greatest complaints i’ve seen are these: that the cases don’t close, and that the black insert comes out very easily. As far as the first point, yes the cases don’t stay shut very well, however This is only a problem if you are holding the case upside down by the sides. Otherwise, this is not an issue. As to the CD holder insert coming out, it’s true, it takes little force to remove it. However as one who often prints box art for my collection this is a pro rather than a con. Again, keep the case upright and there is no problem:The last point I want to touch on is cost.Over my time collecting these games, I had found that the cheapest way to get these cases was to buy a game you didn’t want and use the case. The cheapest i’d ever gotten a game for, just for the long CD case, was usually about $5, and the condition was always up in the air. This value, as of writing, of 10 for $30, puts the cost of a case at $3, with working hinges a certainty. As it stands this is an excellent value for any and all collectors. Just be gentle and you’ll have no troubles with them.

Always Broken
I hate to have to leave this review. The seller is super nice. But I've ordered multiple times and it's an ongoing problem that at least 1 case is broken in every single order. Usually more than 1.The trays are loose, do not lock in place, and fall out easily. The door does not stay closed. It swings open. These are really the only replacement cases out there, as of writing, so it's this or nothing. Honestly, I think they're a bit pricey considering the quality. There is a 2nd run coming that's supposed to be better but it's also significantly more expensive and I don't know that it's going to be worth it. I could see this price point for better cases, that don't arrive broken and stay together. This most recent batch looks like it was damaged in the manufacturing process. With the plastic actually being melted. There were no broken/loose pieces in the packaging - it was just kind of melted/misshapen.The only reason I'm leaving this review is so Amazon knows I'm not trying to scam by claiming every single time I order these that some are broken. When they arrive not-broken then they're usable, not great, but usable so that's why I've ordered multiples. I hate feeling like a bother though every time I order some to have to go through extra steps to be reimbursed for broken cases. It's either feel like a pain and try to get reimbursed or pay for already kind of expensive broken cases. The seller is SUPER nice and helpful so I hope this all gets straightened out because I'm wishing them the best.

This product is very hit or miss
Ok, speaking as a first time buyer I am laying it on the table. This product is very hit or miss. I bought only 10 of these and after thorough examination I can see why people have a problem with them. Half of the cases are able to stay closed while the other half if you hold it upside down open way too easily. I tried taking some apart to mix and match and it didnt do much difference. Also the black/grey part that is meant to hold the disc falls out way too easily. So I had to use my own spare disc holders from some saturn cases i have already. I would only buy this in the future if the manufacturing and measurements of the case are fixed so they can stay closed. These cases are so dang close to being like the genuine article. I will not return my 5 cases that dont close completely and keep as a learning experience. Another thing though in honesty that I must ask is why would you hold your game case upside down in the first place for an original sega saturn case? But aside from that, please make these better. That sound you get when you close your saturn case is almost here in these reproductions, but isnt because of the manufacturing problem. I dont know if its the measurements or the quality of the plastic, but it needs more testing. Thank you for reading and safe shopping to you.

They look like the originals
Cases are almost exactly like the originals. The onnly issue is that they don’t close correctly. If you were to hold the case and turn it over the case would open up and the disc holder would fall out. Keeping that in mind they are nice and have all the faults of the originals. Those fragile hinges that have plagued the originals from the start. If you are gentle with them you should be fine. I like them for what they are but could use a little more tweaking to make them perfect.
