Perfect fix for my 1998 vortec 5.7l Silverado
Very nice quality and packaging, so far no issues with the sputtering issues I constantly had, hopefully no more cap and rotor replacement every 6 months!UPDATEStill running perfect!!! My advice as far as replacing and installing if you're not familiar with engine repair is to watch some Y tube video about the installation process and especially the lining up of the gears to get it to fall back into place. Take a picture of your distributor before you take the cap off and again after you remove the cap, to make note of the position of the rotor inside of the cap and the direction it is pointing, you are going to drop the new distributor in and match the direction the old one was sitting. The gears are cut at an angle so just before you drop it all the way down you will have the rotor slightly pointing off of where it needs to be pointing, as you wiggle and drop it the rest of the way down the gears will make it line up. It might take a couple tries to get the distributor shaft flange to seat flush, just take it slow and you should get it. Also, AT NO POINT SHOULD YOU TURN THE IGNITION TO HELP IT DROP IN. The Vortec engine is a electronic timing and as long as you get it in like the old one was positioned it will run perfectly! This engine is not like the old engines that you would use a timing light, the Vortec will automatically set the timing as long as the new distributor sets in the same orientation as the old one. Again watch some videos if this doesn't make sense and take your time.

Decent quality component
Great look and seems like an upgrade over original. The cap I got does not have brass contacts as others mentioned. Did have a problem during install but company took care of it no problem. I would recommend giving them a shot.

Does the job
Much better than the factory plastic one but I wish it had a higher quality cap and rotor. (reason for the 4) Did not use the hold down clamp that was included and used the factory one to allow for adjustment. We set the retard with a scan tool, A little hint: Route the coil wire UNDER the large wiring harness to give the adjustment range needed. (I found this out the hard way)

Super good price for a sturdy distributor.
For starter this is a very well made distributor. No instructions in the box. There are no distinct markings on the distributor either. Being a mechanic, set your engine on TDC on the compression stroke. I located the #1 pin on the distributor and rotated it counter clockwise about 3 to 4 teeth and dropped it in. You will need a scanner to set the timing at zero. Keep in mind that you will need to line up the oil pump so the distributor will drop in flush. Went online to research the distributor and saw that it ranked #5 in the top 10 distributors. What really got my attention to roll the dice and purchase this distributor was the construction of it. You can easily pay 400 plus for OEM that is all plastic. The truck runs great.

Great product fitment was tight not like the plastic distributor that I took off engine that was loose and and had a broken tab that held distributor cap down this distributor is all aluminum and built well no more sloppy distributor shaft or broken hold down tabs for the cap

Failed after 4 months
Came in a nice package I Installed on my uncles truck ran good for 4 months however same issue after 4 months replaced with new one from local auto parts store . Stay away from this cheap made stuff.

Well made product
I did a lot of review reading and video watching before attempting to stab in this new distributor. I set the rotor base just like videos showed but I could not get the rotor to align at TDC. See screwdriver picture for rotor alignment. After numerous attempts I finally did the oil pump shaft shift trick and the distributor aligned itself perfectly. As others did I also had to use my old hold down bracket. My original attempts were with the included bracket which did not allow the distributor to be adjusted clockwise or counter to assist with placement. I used my rotor and cam position sensor. I am very pleased with the distributor overall- just had issues stabbing it. Made me question my abilities. Use your old holddown and you will be able to change it out fairly quickly. 👍👍

Buen material y exelente acabado
Viene de muy buena calidad sus materiales, aluminio su cuerpo, mejor que el original (plastico), lo instalamos en poco menos de media hora, no se batallo para sincronizarlo, pues trae su muesca y solo encaja en 2 posiciones, solo hubo una pequeña variacion del tiempo cuando se apreto la tuerca, pero se pudo corregir a la brevedad, vamos a pro arlo a ver que tanto aguanta

Great find for great price
Perfect fit for my 1999 Chevy Tahoe 5.7L V8 Engine.Solid looking build. The stamped hold down bracket had to be filed with a few strokes of a hand file to fit the body of the distributor, but this only took 1 minute.

Metal over plastic
Much better then the crappy OEM plastic body distributor. Mine had lots of mines on it so too the chance on this for the price. Just mark where the rotor sits and when it comes out so tmrotates back in proper place. Easy to do. I used the stock hold down like some others. Also I used the cap and rotor I had over the ones it came with. All in all very happy with purchase and price. Mine was extremely worn, now I have piece of mind it will be ok for another 27 years or more.
