Gruv GearMTD FretWraps String Muter 1-Pack (Black, Medium) (FW-MTD-1PK-BLK-MD)

Very ergonomic and no-nonsense. I didn't realize the amount of resonance the length of string between the nut and tuner produces, but after strapping this just behind the nut its a subtle, but very pleasing detail. Anyone with recording experience knows how important a clean take is, and this provides you the opportunity to make life a little bit easier in that regard. Makes a good track sound just a bit more mature. Other than studio use, however, the difference is negligible when the GruvGear is strapped behind the nut. Now using it on the fretboard to mute unused strings is an incredible studio and live tool, and again adds a maturity to the sound. That being said, while a good guitarist can mute these open stings or even use them to create depth/emotion, it takes getting a feel for the instrument that comes with years of playing. If you're not there yet, I recommend this product all around, and if you already have that intimate feel for the fretboard, I still recommend it for the studio applications, deadening the unwanted resonance of the headstock. Great product, would buy again. I purchased a medium and it fits my Fender strat, as well my Ibáñez RG2EX2 (wizard II neck).

Does a great job muting the strings. You can very the amount of fretting by adjusting the strap. Works great.

It works really well. I wasn't expecting to like it as much as I do. You can put it above or below the nut and it works as advertised. The construction appears to be very durable and I hope to get years of service out of it. My only complaint and the reason I didn't give it 5 stars is the price is in my humble opinion, double what it should be. If they gave you 2 or 3 for ten bucks that would be a great deal. Some people have said just to use a hair scrunches but that is up to you.

Ok I admit I wasn’t sure the hype. “You can use a hair tie!” Well, not quite. The advantage of the fret wrap is being able to mute the open strings. I watched Matt Heafey from Trivium’s video and tried that method. It makes soloing sound a little tighter when you pull the fret wrap 5 frets lower than where you’re playing.By no means is this a way to allow you to play sloppy - you still have to work on your hand coordination and patterns. We’ll see how long the durability lasts.

These are super easy to install in literally seconds. They do the job they were made for and they look great doing it! Yeah you could tie a bandanna around the neck and mute the strings, but you want to look cool and professional don't you? I know I do, and these accomplish just that.

I loved this product, great matter and toast came up some reeds. I recommend it too much. ❤️

Yup, it does what it's supposed to. Feels pretty durable, I'm sure it'll last a lifetime. if you don't know what they're for, then you should probably google that. These really aren't something you have to be picky with. I just sprang for the Kiesel branded one because I have 2 of their customs.

Good product but unless you're doing serious recording you don't really need it, I bought it because I was new to the guitar and thought everybody on YouTube has one of these so that must mean I need one, I used it for a week and then took it off because it looks stupid but if you are actually recording music I would recommend it but to the 99.9% of the rest of us out there, you don't need it.

Yup mutes my 6 string bass nicely. You can even hang it off the edge of the 1st fret so open strings can sustain a bit

Kick Ass muting , so much helpful for me because my playing is so dirty
