Confirmed protocols still doesn't read or connect to ecu
States it works with protocols for 97 ford f150 4.6l XLT. Rwd. It does not work. It connects via Bluetooth but does not speak with ECU. Tried torque app, car scanner app and others as well to see if it was a different issue. Don't waste the money.

This device could damage your ECU, it caused the car to throw codes and not to restart! JUNK!!!!!
I got this to connect to the car fine and was able to review the data fine, the problem was after a couple of minutes the car chimed and said service the antilock brake system and when putting the car in drive I could only get the car to go 20 mph. I then shut the car off and tried to restart it and it wouldn't start. so I went and got my good scan tool and hooked it up and it said there was no communication with the ECU. After a few minutes I tried to restart the car and it restarted. I again tried to connect it and it did the same thing. This device is not worth the headache,

OBD2 tool does the job
This OBD2 is a cheap ($7) clone of the professional's ELM327 unit, and it did exactly what it was supposed to do.I drove over something at 40mph which knocked the fender trim loose. Trim was reconnected but the engine light came on and stayed on. Certain there was no engine damage. Before taking it into a mechanic I thought - for 7 bucks and free next day delivery - it would be worth checking myself. Once I downloaded and installed the software on my phone, the OBD2 identified the air temperature sensor had been disconnected. I reconnected it and all runs as it should now. What a shop would have charged me is uncertain. But at $80-100/hour, if they charged anything at all it would have been more than $7.00. And it likely took less time than waiting my local Goodyear or Pep Boys. And I now have a tool for future engine light diagnosis. Satisfied customer.

Does not connect to iPhone Bluetooth
Does not connect to my iPhone 13 Pro Max iOS Bluetooth. It powers up when connected to the OBD port but does not connect to the Bluetooth on my iPhone. Description is misleading does not work with iPhone iOS. Do not buy if you have an iPhone.
