Plug in and start cooking!
I've used this 3 times now and it passes all my criterion for a good waffle maker. I read all safety tips, instructions and also followed the instructions for the pancake mixed I used and the battery is easy to make and cooks well in this waffle maker. See pictures. The very 1st thing I did was clean the ceramic waffle surface with a soft brush and Dawn soap. The instructions do not say to clean it prior to use but I always do with any new cooking product. I did not make any test or throw-away waffles. The first one I made tasted awesome! Once batter was ready (and waffle maker on for 3 minutes on high) I filled the bottom up to just the edge (there is no need for any nonstick spray) I then closed the lid softly and let sit for 10 seconds then flipped and waited for the green light, then flipped back over (which took about 1 minute) then carefully used the stainless steel tongs to pull the waffle out and onto a paper plate. For a more crispy, darker waffle you will need to leave in longer for about 2 minutes 30 seconds total. I made a dark waffle and it is amazing and does not stick at all. Ive had absolutely no issues setting up or using this waffle maker and clean up is easy. I've not had to actually clean the ceramic parts at all because nothing sticks to it. This is a perfect size waffle maker and very easy to use. Also I bought a 4 year warranty in case anything weird happens.

How did I survive without this
I love this little waffle iron. Even though I like waffles I didnโt want an iron because they are a pain to clean and I didnโt want Teflon. This Non stick non Teflon waffle iron is easy to clean...as long you donโt over fill it. You still canโt wash it but nothing sticks to it. I did carefully wash with soap when I first got it but since then I just wipe it off. I did figure out it helps to use a bottle brush to get any crumbs out first the wipe down with a wet towel. It makes a decent size waffle. Even though it only makes one at a time it cooks quick enough that it doesnโt take long to make several. They come out scored into quarters so you could easily share a waffle while the next one is cooking. The non stick is truly non stick. So far I have made waffles, chaffles (egg & cheese), tater toffles, and a quesadilla and they all popped out easily...no spray needed. This particular model caught my eye because of how it folds up. It is so compact and easy to store. When youโre not using it it you turn it part way so itโs vertical and fold down the handle. Itโs so compact that I leave it on my counter all the time without losing much counter space. Mine did not come with instructions or a user guide. Fortunately other reviews gave me some useful info like throwing out the first waffle. This was good advice because the first time a used it there was a faint odor, I wouldnโt want to eat whatever was on the iron that made the smell. Even though it didnโt have instructions itโs been pretty easy to figure out. Overall Iโm very happy with this and would recommend to others.

Nice waffle iron...for low price point.
Just got this delivered and tried it for breakfast. Item worked really well IF you follow directions, or rely on "done when steam subsides". BUT know it is a fragile item i.e. handle and hinge where plates connect --- these seem poorly made. But unless your going to hit someone over the head good enough item for some good waffles.

Love it! The flipping action makes all the difference
This is my second one. I had the first for 10+ years, and used it a ton. When I broke the handle (dropped the whole thing on a tile floor), I bought the exact same one. I make waffles about once a week - and sometimes more if i'm doing a savory recipe (like pizza or veggie ranch). I love the ease of flipping , and the ceramic makes clean up super easy (usually can clean thoroughly with just a paper towel) - although depending on what I'm making. I sometimes spray with Baker's Joy beforehand (like if I'm making cheese grits waffles. Delicious- especially sprinkled with bacon and chives) - makes cleaning the gooey baked cheese a snap. Totally recommend - have recommended, and have bought several as gifts (great wedding gift, also great for housewarming gift, or first place type gift. - I got my niece one when she moved into her first apartment during college - tossed a few unique recipe cards in (her favorite is basic waffles with butter and syrup of course - but also loves taco waffles - so super easy to whip up something cool her friends have never had, serve with sour cream, guacamole, etc. - great for movie night)!

Great waffle maker
I have wanted a waffle maker for a long time, but I didn't want teflon and the plain stainless steel ones are notorious for sticking, so I kept looking and I came across this one and I HAD to try it! It has ceramic plates!!! Yay first plus! It was cheap! Yay! Second plus!! It makes darn good waffles that don't stick!!! WINNER! I made 16 waffles on this today and they all came out perfect(except for when I overfilled it the first time and had waffle batter spewing out oops!) the waffles came out great(I use kodiak brand high protein pancake and waffle mix) They were crisp without being burnt and only took 3 minutes each to make. I am actually planning to get a couple more to make my waffling experience a little faster! Great buy!!

Guessing game, but makes good waffles
The indicator lights on our unit are completely useless. We had to learn through trial and error, watching the steam, guessing the time. Does make good waffles and cleans up easily with the right batter. We like the waffles Bisquick produces, but for some reason the batter usually overflows and makes a mess. So we go with Aunt Jemima, a little softer than what we like, but consistently good and much less mess.

Healthy non-stick surface. Handle can be folded so it takes less room for storage. One of our favourite small appliances.

The non-stick coating in this waffle maker is amazing. Nothing sticks to it. I like that it is ceramic-based and non-toxic. It also heats up fast and cooks evenly. It's easy to set the temperature and get consistent results. However some small improvements could make the product better. First of all, although the griddle part is non-stick, the plastic parts around it can be difficult to clean because batter can spill out and get into cracks and crevices. Because the unit can not be disassembled or submerged in water at all, certain areas can be hard to clean. The second problem is that the plate underneath isn't big enough to catch batter that spills out the side during cooking, so it can end up on your countertop. Make sure you don't overfill the waffle maker or you will have a serious mess! It would be better if the plate was a bit bigger so it could catch spills more effectively.
