Great tent for casual campers
I have to admit that at this point, three of my camping things are from TNH. The equipment is really good quality, and the price is definitely great for what we get, and they have a good mission. I purchased this tent to use mostly in the late spring and summer months on casual camping trips, so I don't know how it'll hold up in the winter months, but it has thus served me well when I used it this week in the Northeast. It protected against the rain well, though I only experienced a mild drizzle, so I don't know how it would hold up in a downpour (not that I care to know). The assembly system is quite simple and there aren't many different parts, so that's nice since I generally set up tents past sunset.. Once I practiced the set-up once, it barely took me a few minutes next time. Size-wise, it's pretty standard. I'm a fairly small girl, so it fits my friend and me fine, though my brother who is 6'4 and I probably wouldn't be able to fit into it. The tent is reasonably light and the material and construction have been fine for me. Thus far I like it a lot and it suits my needs well.

Very Good Tent / Excellent value
TNH is now one of my go to companys for camping gear. My son is a Boy Scout and I also camp frequently with the troop. Really enjoying their latest release the 2 person tent. As with all tents my suggestion is to subtract one from the rating unless you are really cozy with your tent mate. That being said this tent is the perfect size for my son to sleep solo. The tent is well constructed and very easy to put up, the poles snap easily together and the tent hooks quickly to them for a quick setup. The rain fly is also well constructed with plenty of tie points both internally for the poles and externally for the guy lines which are provided. The tent stakes are a stand out and far exceed what most companies are providing, they are very similar (perhaps the same but different color) as TNH tent stake kit, they are the aluminum type with a nice para-cord attached for easy removal from the ground. The size of the tent would not be comfortable for me at 6'4" as I touch both ends laying normally but will be perfect for my son the Scout who will be the primary user. He was able to setup the tent up without instructions very quickly. All the storage bags are well made with quick closing push release clips on nice para-cord. Compared to other brands of tents we have used (REI, Marmot) this is not quite as well made, the zippers are not quite as robust and easy to use, the mesh venting had a 2' run in it out of the box. However given the price point this is a solid purchase and should provide years of camping fun. Will provide update after some campouts.

Excellent backpacking tent
It's compact and light, but is a true two person tent. Easy to set up and take down. Great to throw on a backpack, and I hope to use it for a long distance motorcycle trip soon. A great practical value for the money! Would give it five stars but I'm not a fan of the color. Olive or coyote brown please!

Quality tent, great value.
The new TNH 2-person tent is a solid winner. It is a free-standing 2-person tent that is big enough for 1 adult plus gear, or two smaller persons, or two adults with nothing but sleeping bags. As one other reviewer mentioned, the industry standard for tent sizes means that a 2 person tent is pretty small for two. The materials on this tent are great, with a strong tub-style floor, nice mesh sides, top and door to keep the bugs out, and a good waterproof cover or fly. The solid material on the sides are high enough to keep rain from blowing up under the fly, and there is enough mesh for good ventilation. The tent breathes really well without the fly. One thing that is important on any tent is to make sure that the fly (and the tent for that matter) is staked out tight. Keeping the fly tight keeps it away from the tent walls and lets air circulate though your tent. Why is this important? Because as you breath through the night, you exhale a lot of water vapor, and if you donโt have any air circulation through your tent you will get a lot of condensation on the walls of your tent. The other reason to stake the fly out tight is to keep rain out. Tight material lets water roll off, and if you have a bunch of wrinkles in the fly, water can collect and start to soak though. So remember, keep the fly taut. This tent uses a 1-pole system where the pole is interconnected as one piece. You can literally unfold the pole in 30 seconds, and after connecting it to the corners of the tent, you can raise the tent in a minute or two by using the clips on the tent material. So easy! The tent lines are reflective, the stakes are lightweight aluminum, the zippers are of decent quality, and the bag fits the tent plus accessories. So how does it perform? Great! I spent a night in it recently, and loved it. It kept the cool spring wind out of the tent, with just enough ventilation coming through the sides. Of course, the fly was staked and pulled away from the sides. Setup was easy, and takedown as well, without having to roll it too tight to stuff it in the sack. Weight is 4lbs, 6oz, or 1,987g with tent, fly, stakes, lines, pole and bag. Who do I recommend this for? Anyone car camping, motorcycle camping, bicycle camping or backpacking solo for short trips where weight is not a consideration, or for dual backpackers that can split the weight. This is a three-season tent, which means it is not designed to handle the weight of snow. It is tight for two adults, but perfect for 1 adult plus gear, child or dog. One of the best things? TNH has a lifetime guaranty and great customer service. They stand behind their products and that helps make this tent an awesome value. How good of a value is it? I have owned many tents over the years and currently own 6, from REI to Coleman, and none as inexpensive as this tent. This tent is easily the equal of all the other tents I own.

4.9/5 Great tent for a reasonable price. Updated 5/7/18.
This is a quality tent for a reasonable price. I own multiple tents in various sizes and shapes, this tent is exactly what you would like to see in a 2 person tent. The seams are taped once, so if you plan on using this tent in the rain it would be beneficial to weatherproof the seams beforehand with a liquid seam sealer (however, it's beneficial to do this to any tent regardless). This tent does come with guylines, and if I might say some of the most useful tensioners I have used, at least in plastic versions. These guyline tensioners won't come loose. Also included are TNH's version of tent pegs, they are aluminum and a huge step up from the cheap round metal pegs most tent's come with that wouldn't hold down a fart in a light breeze. Speaking of a breeze, the foot end of this tent's rainfly is vented in a way that allows you to pull open the vent for more breeze or Velcro it down for less ventilation. Now that's smart. The other thing I like was they included an aluminum splint in the peg bag in case one of the poles were to break it doesn't leave you stranded without a shelter. That sort of thing is almost never included in the base price. So +2 to TNH for including a pole splint and upgraded tent pegs. Now, thing everyone wants to know is why not a 5 star review? Seems like a fantastic tent at under $100 right? Right! It is all you could ask for at the price. Are there other tent's that do some of the extras like double sealing their seams? Sure, but you'll spend twice as much money and seam sealer only costs you $5 at Walmart and an hour of your time. The 1 thing, is that TNH should make an optional footprint for this tent. Some people would like to have this option for say car camping, utilizing the fly/footprint as a lightweight option, the possibilities are endless. I hope in the future this comes. One big Pro I felt should be mentioned: The connectors that are part of the 1 piece pole system appear to be made from some sort of lightweight cast metal. They are not plastic connectors at the top of the Y points. I typically do not like 1 piece pole designs because if the connector breaks the tent is then useless. With no plastic pieces to break easily this will likely lead to a much more durable and long lasting pole design. (Note that this is an observation, I do not know the specific material used here, it is non magnetic, but it does not appear plastic). Keep in mind what I mentioned above, it comes with a splint as well! - Taped seams = Yes, on rainfly and bottom tub, everywhere that would get exposed to rain. - Included guy lines and tensioners = Yes - Included footprint = No - Available footprint = No - Included TNH aluminum tent stakes = Yes - Included pole splint in case of breakage = Yes

Very good tent for backpacking.
I just put up the tent and l am pleased with the quality and ease of setup. I have never had a tent with the interlocking hub system and found it simple to assemble the poles. They practically snap in place , almost by themselves. The material of the tent appears to be made of good quality materials. There was a couple of lose threads but I simply cut those off for a cleaner look. The mesh is good and easy to look out of and does not let the bugs inside the tent. I would like the zippers to be a little more robust but I had no problem unzipping and zipping the tent back up. There are two storage pockets just inside the entrance to the door and two clips that hang from the ceiling of the tent so you can hang a small lantern at night time. The tent comes with nice quality aluminum tent stakes and not the cheap hook style, that I have seen included in previous tents, I have bought. The guy lines are a reflective material and I like that so at night time, I can see them and prevent myself from tripping over my tent and possibly hurting myself. The rainfly is solid and has just enough coverage if you want to leave your boots outside your tent while you sleep. This is listed as a 2 man tent but I would rate it as one man and a small woman tent. I put a large sleeping pad in there at 78 inches long and 25 inches wide so you can get an idea of how wide the tent is. I still had a couple of inches, length wise on each side of my sleeping pad from the front and back of the tent. It would be nice in the future if TNH would have a footprint to buy for this tent. As we all like that little bit of extra protection from the ground to help our tents last longer. I plan to but a small tarp to lay under it for my overnight trips. I also like the fact that the storage bag is not to long, as I can strap it to the back of my pack and not worry about it getting hung up on mesquite bushes and the like in West Texas. For the price and weight of 4.6 pounds this is a solid tent for overnight backpacking and longer treks.

#1 Favorite Tent out of all of my backpacking gear - Highly Recommend TNH Outdoors!
I purchased this tent with average expectations of a good tent that would do the job to keep me dry, somewhat warm, and protected from the elements. The TNH Outdoors 2 person tent has exceeded every expectation I had and has provided such a great value (both price and quality)! The tent itself is reasonably light (without spending $400 on an ultralight backpacking tent) and packs down small for great value on the trail and in the storage closet. The colors, while in reality, a bit darker than the first product photo, are great and provide a trendy color scheme for a stylish and hardcore backpacker. Space wise, the tent is definitely a great pick for a single person tent but would be a bit tight for two full-grown adults - maybe father and son, etc... Fits me and my gear well. This is definitely an industry standard size though and nothing that TNH did wrong. Set-up wise, very easy to set up. I was a little bit confused at first when I read the reviews but once I got it out of the perfectly sized bag, it made complete sense and was super simple to set up. Highly recommend for fair-weather camping to mild weather. Wouldn't withstand winds above 25-35 mph but what tent under $500-$600 would? Great, strong tent overall. Waterproof-wise, this tent is great! The fly works well and the seams are expertly taped which is a huge pro in the rainy part of Oregon where I live. Bottom Line: Amazing tent, would buy again, this is now my #1 tent above REI, Alps, The North Face, and Kelty tents - Love supporting GREAT small businesses with quality gear, environmental awareness, and fantastic customer support. Highly recommend the TNH Outdoors Backpacking Tent!

Competes with tents that are twice the cost!
I love all of my TNH gear, and I am overall just a huge fan of this company. They have excellent products, wonderful staff, as well as an admirable business mission. Their latest offering did not disappoint! I will admit, I was a bit skeptical of the single pole system. You either love these or you hate them. Having had very poor luck in the past with hub failure in one of my previous tents, I haven't bought another one of these since. However, the material used in the TNH single pole system is far superior and I am hopeful that it will hold up to years of use. The poles are lightweight aluminum and very fast and easy to snap together. The only thing I found bizarre was that one side of the pole system is longer than the other, and they are not marked front or rear. Typically this wouldn't be a problem, but this tent comes with no instructions. It only takes a minute to figure out if you have it oriented incorrectly, however I would have liked to have seen them include some sort of marking indicating which side faces the door. This tent has some really nice features, and almost all of the components are top notch. It comes with the TNH stakes and reflective guylines you've grown to love, not the garbage that you often see with tents in this price range. The tensioners are solid and will hold the guylines taught in virtually any weather conditions. The rainfly is of good quality and waterproof. It also provides versatility in ventilation options. Inside the tent you will find 2 storage pockets as well as 2 ceiling hooks to help manage your gear. As an added bonus, they have also included a tent pole splint in the event that one of the poles breaks. I don't expect to need this any time soon (or so I hope) because the poles are made of aluminum and seem sturdy, but it's still nice to have the peace of mind. There are a couple of minor disadvantages to this tent. First, and this is really the only complaint I have of the product itself, is that the zippers are not as nice as some of my more expensive tents that use YKK. They do the job, but in the cold weather they can be a challenge as they aren't quite as smooth as higher quality zippers. The only other thing I can mention is that TNH still doesn't have a ground tarp or footprint for this tent. They say it is coming, but at present time, you are on your own when it comes to ground protection. All things considered, this is an excellent 3 season tent regardless of cost. When you factor in the price it becomes clear to see just how incredible of a value this presents to the outdoor enthusiast. I own 8 other tents in the 2-4 person size, every one of them much more expensive than this one, but the TNH tent is nearly as good in all categories. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this to anyone in the market for a 3 season tent for solo camping (let's face it, 2 person tents are not big enough for 2 people) and I can't wait to see what TNH comes out with next! To see this tent in action, check out my video review! It took me about 12 minutes total to set this up for the first time, and that included having to fix one of the guylines that was not properly fed through the tensioner. So YES, this tent can go up very quickly especially when you have had some practice and all the guylines are set up on the fly.
