Nice little plane, worth the price
This plane surprised me. The blade is decently hard and holds an edge. It did need some work to flatten but that is a once in a lifetime task. The fit and finish were way higher than past planes I have ordered of this style. The sole needed a little flattening but that is what I use my tablesaw table for these days. The brass mouth insert is a nice touch and appreciated.

Nice little tool but no Instructions on how to use
I actually got this as a display piece for an antique style tool chest I am making. For that it will work very well. However, to use it, I have no clue as there were no instructions inside as to how to use it and how to guage planing depth. I made it look like the picture and will try it out to see if it really works.

Decent small block plane, with a little work
I bought it expecting to have to lap the sole and hone the iron. This done, it's a decent small hand plane. The cross bar thing is removable and I removed it. The light weight of the wooden body makes it pleasant to work with one-handed. Adjusting the blade height is a pain, of course.

Maybe if you trained under George Nakashima...
There is no way to get a precise setting on this thing, much less repeat it. It's nice and sharp, I'll give it that. But without fail one side of the blade will set deeper than the other, or the blade will move, mid-pass and you'll end up gouging your workpiece. I was looking for something to do small areas with. I thought I understood the methodology, but I'm certain that I will have to add my own hack to it to even make it usable. You get what you pay for...I should know better.

Great little block plane at a great price!
Arrived quickly, and excellent quality. The blade is much thicker than expected. Although it arrives sharp, I gave it a once over on my diamond stones. To be honest, the wedge left something to be desired, but that is easily fixed. Makes an excellent block plane. If you've never used a wooden plane before, it takes a little getting used to, setting the blade, etc. But, over all, I am very happy with it and find myself using it all the time. A great little plane at a great price.
