Recipes don't start till page 139! :-/ Rest is info and interviews with random vegans. :-s
I wasn't amazed by this book. I thought it would be full to the brim of recipes but most of the book is filled with 'meet the vegan' kind of thing. Just pictures of random people and info about them, why would I want that??? The recipes don't actually start until page 139!!! :-/ I've added a picture, so you can see how thick this book is but where the actual recipes start, it's kinda ridiculous really. It is full of information though, if your just starting out vegan and have 0 info on the subject at all, or what it means, or why people go vegan, then I guess this book is useful but if you already know all the info and are looking for a nice recipe book, this just doesn't fit the bill to me.

LOVE IT!!!!!!
I absolutely love this book! It's fun and inspiring and this is the book that 100% convinced me to go vegan. Unlike other vegan books it doesn't dwell on the animal cruelty side of things that I find upsetting. It has a much more positive outlook which I love on how to live a vegan life :) Every area of life is touched upon from clothes and cosmetics to food and it includes some great recipes. There are also profiles of vegan bloggers and businesses from around the world. I love this book and have read it several times. Thank you Melisser for your great book- bring on the next one!! x x

Good book but pretty disorganised
I really enjoy her website, but this book was a little bit of a disappointment to me. The cover looked fantastic, and it's got some great spreads etc in it. But to me the reading experience was ruined a bit by the lack of structure. It just seemed a bit thrown together, and it was hard to know what 'kind' of book it was (if that makes any sense?).Maybe that was the point - an attempt to be all-encompassing on a vegan girl's life, but to me (a girl, aspiring vegan) it didn't live up to expectations.

Not that great.
I wasn't too pleased with this as It was mainly profiled on random vegans. It didn't have the content of recipes and crafts (there were about 2 of each!) that I was hoping for!It did turn up on time however

Awesome
Amazing hints, tips and support in this beautiful book full of enlightenment and explanation to so many things a vegan girl can struggle with sometimes. Highly recommend this great book!

Shopper's guide
Basically an American shopper guide - very little about actually making things yourself as I expected from the cover. Also definitely for younger girls, which probably I should have expected from the cover!

Helpful, informative and friendly.
As a new vegan my husband got me this book as a Christmas present. I have to say as a vegan surrounded by non-vegans this book has been really helpful. I has given me much more information, is well researched and like my little vegan friend. I think the personal stories are really helpful as well, and the overall tone of the book is very non-judgmental. It sets veganism out as a personal journey, not a challenge or competition.I would recommend this book to any new vegans, or anyone who is interested in the subject. I will be encouraging my husband to read it as well, as even though it is called the Vegan Girls guide there is a lot that male readers could get out of it as well.
