Interesting edit /change to the original. It boils it down to the romantic aspects of the show but the rest of scandal is too fun to ignore!

We used this version at our community theater. Audiences and actors adored it. The original from the 1700s is too long, too stuffy, and old fashioned for my taste. This version keeps all the fun and leaves out the boring and offensive parts. It went over well in a small private reading in NYC with professional actors and an audience of sophisticated theater pros. I read it at Brown where I studied Theater Arts and Dramatic Literature, and I thought this dusty play could come alive again with a little work. So I revised it, produced it with my wife's help, and directed it. Yes, it's me. You and your group will love it, too.
